I don’t support the law, but I wish the restaurants in my area would do it voluntarily. A couple around here used to do it and then stopped.

Schwarzenegger and the California Legislature have been pulling things like this for years. When you’re not doing a damned thing productive, you have to fill in with something.

For shenanigans such as this, you can thank Assemblyman Houston Flournoy (R-Pomona), an ultra-liberal Republican who pushed through legislation in 1966 giving California a full-time legislature--one of the biggest boondoggles in our state's history.

Naw. All restaurants should just LIE and make up some numbers and post them. This legislation is garbage anyway. And have a few thugs intimidate so-called inspectors.

Agreed. I don’t get it, so what if restaurants are required to list calories of meals they serve.

Why are conservatives afraid of information? Everyone is still able to make dining decisions LIKE THEY WERE ADULTS.

I’ll answer my own question.

Too many “conservatives” are weenies...

When I saw this report this was my initial reaction...

“Good. Now if I decide that if I go a little overboard on dinner I can choose (like an adult) to skip the dessert or maybe add something a little healthier (like fruit or veggies) the next day to balance my caloric intake or in case I am watching my cholesterol.”

Or, I can mac out and not care. But the decision is always MINE...like an adult shouldhave.

MORE information is never bad.

“Naw. All restaurants should just LIE and make up some numbers and post them.”

Are you an accountant?

Thanks for the mention. It would be nice if we had a governor who would turn down at least some of this nonsense.

No argument here. Honestly, I think too many people stuff food down their gullets without really thinking about it or knowing what’s in it, but having the information at hand lets you make a responsible (or irresponsible) choice. And that’s kind of what I thought conservatives were all about - peronal responsibility - but I wonder sometimes... ;-)

This is a lot different than NYC banning trans fats.
