Will southwest (Ohio) produce another GOP landslide?
Columbus Dispatch ^ | 29 September 2008 | Jim Siegel

LEBANON, Ohio -- The clock reads 1:30 p.m. on a weekday, but one wouldn't know it by looking around the room. Warren County Republican Party headquarters is buzzing as supporters steadily stream through the door looking for yard signs or information.

Inside, Randy Cornett and Ron Maag are putting together yard signs -- but not just any yard signs. Unlike the free McCain/Palin signs leaning against a far wall, this new batch costs $5 each. Still, Cornett said, folks are buying them up as quickly as they get them in.

In large, white script, the signs sum up in a single word why there's a new bounce in the step of GOP leaders trying to deliver Ohio, and specifically southwestern Ohio, for John McCain. Sarah!

as I posted in another thread: don’t you think this early register and vote bill (which starts today) spells doom for a republican victory??

They are predicting hundreds of thousands of votes for Nobama this week. The college crowd can register and vote in a “one stop shopping” scenario. The colleges, etc. are running field trips, bussing and offering incentives, they are actually sleeping out overnight, etc

Southwest Ohio is the subject at hand, i.e., Cincinnati, Lebanon, West Chester.....Hamilton, Butler, Warren counties.

Huge growth areas for the most part and reliably Republican-voting.

Only a few miles away is the smoking crater of Dayton, once home to GM, NCR, Mead, Delphia et al. Reliably Democrat-voting and with regional laughingstock Rhine McLin as its mayor, it is the prototype donut city. The Dayton Daily News would make Pravda hang its head in shame.

You really seem to be going out of your way to promote an Obama victory. Your posts definitely seem to be running counter to your cute little tagline.

So, we get Ohio. We had better get a PA or a Michigan or it is over.

That's not even remotely accurate.

Care to take a guess which recent President won OH but lost MI and PA? Why, George W. Bush, in 2004 and 2000!

The same out here in Central Va. I’ve seen more signs with McCain Palin than I ever did Bush Cheney. Everyone wants signs. I’ve got to deliver 5 more this week.

In Maryland our local Republican party headquarters can’t keep the McCain/Palin signs in stock. They’ve gone through 1,000 of them in the last two weeks. They have plenty of McCain bumper stickers, but no McCain/Palin. Everyone wants the Palin stuff.

There are already hour long lines at board of election offices in ohio with people voting today. I’m not sure which side is pushing this strategy though, i hope its us.

Oh, so I see the plan. Thousands of college kids are bused out to vote now, and then on election day they are bused out again to vote. Who’s at the election site with information to tell them that the kid has already voted? I see major voting fraud winning this for “the one”. With his number 666, there will be no way to defeat him. People will find him out the hard way. Come quickly Lord Jesus.

A friend who has lived in Ohio all his life says that Ohio is conservative socially and liberal economically.

It comes down to a question of whether they will vote with their union or vote with their fellow church members.

Palin may be the game changer that delivers Ohio.

But you’re not accounting for what looks to be the loss of CO and VA and others. All we had to do is hold what we had, but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

Not only that, they can get a absentee ballot from the state they live in if they don’t live in Ohio so ultimately its possible they could vote 3 times-

1.once today (this week) as they register in Ohio and vote at the same time as they register in Ohio on a absentee ballot.

2. vote absentee ballot in the state they actually live in.

3. vote again in Ohio on Nove 4 at the polls-

pretty slimy.....

Oh yeah, that's right. The GOP is going to lose CO and VA because Obama and the media say so. And some polls oversampling Dems tell us so.

Nope, never seen this approach before! LOL

P.S. Don't forget, we're also being told Obama is tied or ahead in NC!

That was before...now M is trailing in VA and FL is a toss up. He needs a PA or a MI for insurance.

Who’s at the election site with information to tell them that the kid has already voted?

The election officers. And poll watchers, if the campaigns and parties provide them.
