Unbelievable video of Bush promoting zero down loans for minorities....
Okay, thanks! That definitely answered that question. I wasn’t aware of that much in detail.
The good news of your post is that my Congressman, Culberson, was fighting that crap. (If I read it correctly?)
Site is down right now,but they do have this disclaimer :"Sept 29, 2008: So many people are searching for the economic relief bill that GovTrack can't handle it. Neither can the House of Representative's own website, for that matter. Take a break and come back later when the world cools off!".
You're welcome.
That's the way I read it, too.
Culberson wanted to stop letting Mexican illegal aliens use Matricula Consular cards as US banking ID and Bush and Frank were in favor of it, as were the banks and financial institutions.
Okay, thanks. I'll check back again later.
BRAVO ! ... *BUMP* !
It's not as if he didn't warn us about his "new America".
We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture. Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende. For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America. Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America. As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico. George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000. |
Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:
In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. My Bush Epiphany By Lawrence Auster
It’s good to have it out in the open.
What killed Nixon was not the break in, but the cover up.
Learn.
Dec 8, 2003: This bill passed in the House of Representatives without objection. A record of each representative's position was not kept.

"One day, tomorrow or 15 years from now, we're going to take 5 to 10 million Mexicans and they're going to have one thing in mind - cross the border, go into Dallas, go into Houston, go into New Mexico, go into San Diego, and each one has embedded in his mind the idea of killing 10 Americans."-- Tomas Borge, Sandinista interior minister, 1986
For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.
As I have been saying, Presidents view our votes to elect them as mandates for them to pursue their stated agenda. It's nice to see that confirmation in the words of the candidate, himself.
Thanks.
This list doesn't include Bush's Social Security Totalization Agreement with Mexico, signed June 29, 2004.
Bush was very busy helping Mexican illegal aliens in his first term.
He didn't seem to really care about the folks that elected him --American citizens.
Dec 8, 2003: This bill passed in the House of Representatives without objection. A record of each representative's position was not kept.
Well, there it is. Republicans and Democrats in lock-step with the President to give US taxpayer dollars to millions of Mexican illegal aliens.
Outrageous.
I meant to add:
Amends the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act to: (1) authorize the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to make grants to State and local participating jurisdictions for downpayment assistance and related home repair to low-income, first-time home buyers; and (2) limit family assistance to the greater of six percent of the purchase price or $10,000. Requires a participating jurisdiction to include intended grant uses in its fiscal year comprehensive housing affordability strategy under such Act.
Sets forth State and local jurisdiction allocation formulas. Permits fund reallocation.
Requires the Comptroller General to report respecting the impact of such grants on a State-by-State basis.
Terminates grant authority after December 31, 2007. Authorizes specified FY 2004 through 2007 appropriations.
Makes the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 inapplicable to such assistance.
According to Bush's figures, he wanted to create at least 5.5 million new 'minority' homeowners.
5,500,000 x $10,000 = $55,000,000,000 or $55 billion.
According to the bill: "(2) limit family assistance to the greater of six percent of the purchase price or $10,000."
If I read this correctly, then $10,000 is the minimum down payment that would be granted under this bill. Six percent of $300,000 is $18,000. So, we could be looking at at over $110 billion or more.
And this does not include the $440 billion in increased commitment from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that he called for in 2002.
Sorry. I mis-stated it.
I should have said, Republicans and Democrats in lock-step with the President to give hundreds of billions of US taxpayer dollars to millions of Mexican illegal aliens.
Ol’ Dan,I think you’ve got it.This bailout is to pay for what we’ve paid for already. These numbers are getting awfully close to $700 Billion. If taxpayers already were on the hook to implement these programs, why are we on the hook to bail them out when they don’t work?
Yes, heaven forbid that we discover that George W. Bush is as appallingly human as the Democrats are.
And Mel Martinez is now the junior U.S. Senator from Mexico.
