WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House says President Bush will make a statement early tomorrow to address the financial crisis and the House vote to reject a $770-billion bailout plan Bush and House leaders had been pushing.
The vote unnerved Wall Street, where the markets plummeted. The Dow dropped 777 points, the most ever in a single day. And there have been sharp declines in early Tuesday trading in Asia and Australia.
Just where lawmakers go from there is unclear. But both sides say a legislative fix is needed.
The legislation would have allowed a federal buyout of bad mortgages and other sour assets held by troubled banks and other financial institutions.

Every time Bush goes on TV, McCain’s numbers drop further.
That would be good but I'm not counting on it with all of the sell-outs in congress.
Who cares. Hasn’t he done enough? Go home.
Where the hell where YOU Bush with your magical VETO pen?
Hmmmm?
Wrong, everytime McCain supports this BS bailout his numbers go lower.

” ... everytime McCain supports this BS bailout his numbers go lower.”
YUP!
The public doesn’t want it.
Republicans should stand FIRM AGAINST IT.
There are enough Demoncrats to pass this thing.
Let them pass it and really piss off the public.
That will DOOM the Obomination.
When is someone going to start reporting the percentage of the market that went down instead of raw numbers?

“My fellow Americans...blah blah blah...chaos...blah blah blah...armegeddon...blah blah blah...free money for everyone...blah blah blah...”
By the way, who cares if everyone agrees that there must be a legislative solution? Why wouldn’t all legislatures push for a legislative solution? They’re legislators! Of course they think they’re important.
If you look at what the DOW closed at you should be able to figure it out.

By golly, I think you have found the magic button. Can you get this over to the McCain campaign -- Get on the same page as the American people, use the free market, no taxpayer bailout, you win -- STOP.
Neither was WWII but it would have been better not to go thru it.
Isn’t it sad how Bush squandered most of the conservative agenda? He had all that potential in front of him in 2001.
Yes, it is sad. He coulda been a contendah.
bummer
