I can't believe that. Has Tancredo explained this vote?

I can't believe that. Has Tancredo explained this vote?

See http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_10592448:

Tancredo, in the last two weeks, had opposed the bailout proposal. Changes made over the weekend, including protection against golden parachutes for Wall Street executives, new oversight, and lowering the initial payment to $250 billion eased his misgivings somewhat.

Regardless, he said in an interview, he slept about three hours last night. When he awoke today, he said he knew he'd vote for the bill.

"I finally concluded I had to do what was best for the country," said Tancredo, who added that he was thinking about people's investments in their 401(k) retirement plans, their money-market accounts, their ability to get car and student loans.

"It's necessary to do something to protect people who were indeed not responsible for this (problem) to be protected from the effects of it," Tancredo said.

Many House members voted against the bill believing the measure would still pass, Tancredo said, and looked stunned as the vote tally showed the bill was failing.
On the other hand, Marilyn Musgrave is awesome. I like what she said and did.

No. I didn’t.

People that are living on credit will have a problem. The less debt you are in and the more you live within your means; the better your chances.

It’s survival pure and simple.

Tom Tancredo and Eric Cantor voted for this unconstitutional piece of trash. Amazing!

Cantor's in the leadership, which had to sign on.

Tancredo is good at making illegal immigration prominent, but he's not really a leader otherwise.

Looks like I’ll vote against Blount in Missouri at the first chance I get. I even sent him several letters.

The whole House leadership: Boehner Blount Cantor Simpson? -- agreed to vote for the package when some elements of their plan was included. That's one of the perils of being in Congressional leadership, you're expected to swallow the party line crap sandwiches.

Good to see the Georgia GOP House contingent taking an unified stand against the bailout.

My little Texas congress-weenie, Chet Edwards, voted yes. Such a shock. You can always count on old Chet to vote his party line.

Somebody should tell him that he's been passed over for a spot on the Obama ticket.

Bull. Leadership or not, this was an historic vote and Eric Cantor came down on the wrong side. Cantor, Boehner, Blunt and the other sixty-something GOP House members who voted for this draconian bureaucratic monstrosity, were dead wrong. Tancredo has become a disappointment on several key issues and the fact he isn’t running for reelection is fine by me.

What’s so hard for you to understand about survival?

Why is it so hard for you to provide a source to your claims when I ask?

And what survival has to do with that request, I don’t know.

I just told you it was common sense.

And survival is the name of the game. If you want to survive; dont get into debt and live within your means.

Why is it so hard for you to understand something so simple?

Or do you just want to argue?

Thanks for the info!

Idaho representative Mike Simpson stabbed me in the back on this one, I called his office last Friday too.

The only outstanding thing I have ever seen Mike Simpson do as congressman is try to break up the ninth circuit and then he submitted like a puppy dog when palosi threatened him with with parliamentary procedure or something and I haven't liked him much ever since he sent me a republican talking points form letter about the national debt.

I think it is time for a new representative in eastern Idaho.
