You need 60 votes to be filibuster proof. When’s the last time the RNC had that?

Was any attempts to pass legislation to fix Fannie/Freddie filibustered? Or was there any documented threats of a filibuster to stop these bills (regulation Fannie/Freddie) from coming to a vote.

The bill McCain cosponsored passed in committee, all Republicans voting for, all Dems against. Was the threat of filibuster the reason it did not go to the full senate for a vote? Seems like from what I read the reason given was simply that there was not enough votes in the senate to pass it. I suspect that a few (or more) Rinos sided with the dems.
