1) Nancy (the Party is Over) Pelosi
2) Harry Reid
3) Barney Frank
4) Chris Dodd
5) Obama bin Biden
Wait for the voting tomorrow. A lot of Conservatives won’t vote for this bill. It may pass but with Democrats, so the blame will be on them.
They had to do something tonight to ward off the markets collapsing around the world.
Be calm, all will work out. Praying.
Not if we keep bailing them out.
I think it’s pretty clear we lose in the end.
Is there a petroleum jelly futures market? It seems like a pretty fair bet about now.
Maybe if enough people get mad, there will be more Republicans elected. This could be changed.
Too early to tell. Wait on our God.
Anyone who pays taxes lost.
McCain won and will be vindicated politically while BO fiddled.
At worst, McCain neutralized a losing issue, making the RATS carry water for Bush. McCain separated himself further from Bush.
If this plan goes thru and nothing bad happens, the dems will claim they saved us in spite of the pubbies.
If this plan goes thru and chaos follows, the dems will blame the pubbies for something.
If some plan does not go thrru, the dems will blame us anyway.
The devil.
The largest transfer of wealth in American History is about to occur.
It looks like they all got the limelight while conservatives, Republicans overall, and John McCain got the lemon.
However, I am waiting to see if someone on our side is creative enough, smart enough, brave enough, and yes, maybe tricky enough to put together a surprise element to make them all look like idiots.
Plus, I am having a hard time thinking that McCain’s campaign staff, with all its ingenuity and resourcefulness in picking Sarah Palin and keeping her pick a secret could just let this public relations fiasco happen to John McCain now. There just HAS to be something else to this.
You forgot George Soros.
The truth about how all this happened needs to be told, our only hope is Fox News if it is to penetrate.
This issue SHOULD seal the democrats fate and reduce them to a minority party if THE TRUTH of the story is told.
Will Fox News run with the ball in opposition to the networks who’s job is to apparently parrot whatever lie the democrats tell them?
McCain fumbled this ball in the debate, probably to protect his wingman Bill Clinton who is actively campaigning for him.
It’s time to assign the blame where it’s due, if we lose this, we can lose anything, this is like me committing a murder live on camera and pointing my finger at someone else 100 yards away and getting away with it.
We’ll see if the “R’s” have any spine tomorrow, we’ll see who votes against it and we’ll see who comes out and shows who is to blame, are they afraid of Barney Frank?? Chris Dodd??
#5 - they will have a nice chunk of loose change ($350 bils? Yeah, right) with very few strings attached to play with.
McCain should have forcefully stuck it to the administration on this matter. First, it was the right thing to do, especially for an alleged conservative Republican. Second, as much as the conventional wisdom is that Bush steamrolled the country into the Iraq War, it would have been a nice way to contrast himself with the current unpopular administration...and the even more unpopular Congress that was ever so willing to put whatever number the administration wanted on the check. Obama would’ve been left behind in the lurch, flailing around for a position to take.
McCain galvanizes conservatives and gets them enthusiastically behind him with the selection of Gov. Palin as his running mate. Now he’s hidden her, save for letting her be interviewed by a partisan press out to destroy her. And he’s just agreed to the largest expansion of the government into the private sector, perhaps ever.
Meanwhile, we have mean ol’ mean small government conservative George W. Bush back at the White Hizzouse ready to cap his tenure with this monstrosity.
Yes, tell me how conservatives have “won.” This is one of the worst defeats in GOP history. Created, of course, by the GOP itself.
You might like this. It's a good read.
I wouldn’t jump the gun. Come election day, the American people might be too happy with what their investment bought. This isn’t going to magically solve the problem over the next 40 days.
I think it is too early to tell. We still don’t know what went on behind the scenes - what will the Senate load this turkey up with? Poison Pills beyond an already toxic stew? Bush was great in year 1... since then, Flop City. We put him back in Office in 2004 and what has he done since? Amnesty attempt, Prescription Drug mess, Iraq fumbles, and spending out of control - now this monstrosity. While something needed to be done I guess to “save the economy”, this was not the right idea. We will never know how bad things really were. Silly to think that banks could fail with the way they gouge us on fees and interest. Oh, and I thought the whole point of interest was to pay for risk. What risk, when Uncle Sam is there to bail you out on default? So, why pay interest at all? Plus to think these assclowns could come up with a comprehensive plan in a about a week? Ummm.... yeah... sure. I’d stay home if I didn’t despise Obama so much. I thought I hated Hillary more. But now...
