Money quote:

Regardless, House Republicans are saying that unless the possibility of ACORN seeing any money from this bailout is eliminated, there's no deal. "Doling out favors to ACORN and other liberal special interest groups are a non-starter for House Republicans," said Behner spokesman Kevin Smith. "If Rep. Frank wants to keep ACORN in the bill he can secure the necessary Democratic votes for passage because he'll need every one of them."

This is utter coolness. Am I dreaming? Are the Republicans acting like Republicans?

I don’t care if the money goes directly to ACORN or to the states and then ACORN. If we are being forced to accept this socialist bail out every penny recovered must be used for only debt reduction and nothing else.

> Are the Republicans acting like Republicans?

No, they’re acting like Democrats, i.e. boldy and with a spine, but in promotion of the Republican agenda.

This is an extremely rare and beautiful sight to behold.

“a principal objection focused on the group ACORN”

So interesting that right now, CNN’s doing special coverage on the bailout “negotiations” still going on - they showed two points that dems and repubs have contention over which were lamely broad - how much you want to bet that during this whole hour (or more) the REAL disagreements aren’t even mentioned - like ACORN.

If the public even hears the term on MSM (which they probably won’t) it will NOT be explained or given any time more than a passing mention, such as “community housing organization” or some such BS, again making the Repubs look like unreasonable, cold-hearted capitalists who are “out of touch” with the middle class.

I see nowhere in any of the news stories the fact that Nobama worked with Ayers at ACORN for years........were it McC, he would already have been ridden out of town.

Guess it's time to freep the media and email/call every rep there is - pubbies and dimRats alike and let them know WE KNOW and will NOT stand for it. There have already been several cases of registration fraud in several states for this election - perpetrated by ACORN.

Time to clean house and give McC/Palin a house and senate without reid and pelosi at the helm.

They’re setting up for a Socialist take over. No doubt about it.

Question: are we going to let them?

It's time for us to step up and help - the dems are afraid to pass their Socialist Takeover Bill that they almost got through - and most likely would have had McC not gone back to DC and forced them to include HOuse republicans in the process...which is now shedding the light of day on what this really is.

If we don't scream loud and clear and help them on this - we will have helped in the Socialist takeover of our country. Right now, the emails and phone calls are freaking the dems out. Lets keep ‘em freaked.

call/email support to:

Congressman Boehner
Washington, D.C. Office
1011 Longworth H.O.B.
Washington, DC 20515
(202) 225-6205
(202) 225-0704 fax

and to :
Senator John McCain - who went back to Washington and forced the dimRats to include the House republicans in the discussions

Senator John McCain
241 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Main: 202-224-2235
Fax: 202-228-2862
