They are scrambling to throw money at the problem to protect their seats. In theory, Barney Frank should lose his seat over this. It’s plenty of ammo for his opponent. But then, he should have lost his seat back when that gay prostitution ring was run out of his apartment. The Democrats have very little shame and almost never ever resign from elected office regardless of what disgrace they bring.

In all fairness, even Bill Clinton himself tried to get more oversight, and his own party blocked his attempts. This goes back all the way to Carter, and the CRAs.

Mind you, I am not absolving Clinton of this mess — just that it will help if we are truthful, and if we can show the Democrats where even people within their own party worked against them, ya know? It certainly helps at least open the door to a discussion. If one immediately does what they do, and say “It was all Clinton’s Fault” then we are no better than those who have blamed Bush for the last 8 years... All JMHO.
