You would think that as governor, he has the power to suspend the offenders immediately. There is no room for tolerance of this kind of crap in this country. A prosecutor who thinks her Government Authority allows her to threaten people who speak out against a political candidate is absolutely unworthy of any authority in this country. She should not even have the authority to decide how much ketchup goes on a Big Mac.

Fire them. Take their pensions. Ensure that they can never, ever be gainfully employed. Let them beg crumbs on the streets and find out how it feels to beg for their lives from people whose contempt for them is matched by their power over them.

This whole thing is sickening.

That's something I hope Blunt does immediately if he has the power to. They need to make an example out of these creeps.

Except that they are elected and I think McCullough is running unopposed again. McCullough is generally a decent guy and has had some really rough cases through his office. What possessed him this time is anyone's guess.

McKaskill got elected on the coattails of a stem cell proposition. Man, was that a whopping mistake.

Are those prosecutors and sheriffs under that governor’s direct authority, that he can just fire them? They could be elected positions.

Totally 100% agree.

I am heartened by Governor Blunt’s words.

But these people care nothing about WORDS.

It is ACTIONS alone which will stop this nightmare - if it can be stopped.

It is nothing less than Police State Gestapo tactics and has no place whatsoever in this nation.

I don’t think they threatened anything beyond enforcing existing law. Intimidating in its implied application, yes, but also not something that can be turned against them.
