Obama's lead in Ras' tracker is now at 6 points (from 5 pts yday and 1 pt a week ago). Since Rasmussen fixes the party ID breakdown at D +5.5, McCain must be trailing with the independents now.
Imo, the only thing which can make it close is a stock market recovery in October. Probably bailout-induced.
I don’t recall Bush ever being down 6 in Ras to Kerry in Oct ‘04. Am I wrong?
“So what”
MANY of the reply assumed that it was after the debate, like others polls.
Just trying to claify for those who care.
I agree with your point, the MSM has kept Obama from being found out for what he is — however — if you had read the thread more carefullty you’d see that was NOT the point...so please keep your “So whats” to yourself.
Under that scenerio, the Dem brand name could go south very quickly if gas prices creep past $5 and if bad economy news continues.

I don’t think the debate was lost. I think it was largely irrelevant - other issues dominate the news (and rightly so), and they do not play to McCain’s advantage.
If Palin can use the right talking points in her debate, she’ll do fine. Don’t know if this will generate any uptick.
Yes, McCain still has a chance, after all he is trading at 42 on intrade. But the main variable is the economy, not debates or attack ads.
REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT
Why is the fact not being made loudly and clearly that the RATS are responsible for Fannie and Freddie? The Rats are responsible and they were the ones who benefited - handing out loans to their voting blocs while some were making insane bonuses. So are they now going to be rewarded for destroying our economy while enriching themselves? If so, we need another country - this one is beyond hope.

For a while, they will be able to pin all bad news on “disastrous 8 years of Bush”. MSM will definitely aid them. That will not work for 8 years, but may work for 2 or 4.
If conservatives accept the inevitability of a Zero victory, then the libs have already won. I won’t accept any such outcome until election night if we should be so unfortunate. It’s not even October yet, so the people that are panicking should do something to help out (if they aren’t already)...if not for the old guy, then for Sarah. I admit it doesn’t look pretty, but that’s no excuse to give up. The Zero must go down.
When you own this site you can tell me about what I should or shouldn’t post
You were talking to me, not the site.
so, bite me.
Oh, yea that is the message they got when Clinton was elected twice.
Exactly.
What was the age breakdown of this latest poll?
The older, more likely voter are going to vote for McCain, including 20% of the Hillary voters.
Is that why Obama has been retreating from Red States and having his own States become competitive?
Obama is struggling to hold his own base
Stop panicking at every poll!
He will win-be here on Nov.5th.
We aren't going to lose.
Yes, and it looks the same with Obama vs McCain,
With 93 days to go until the 2008 election, Obama holds a 3.3 point advantage over McCain,
Interesting that you left that little fact out.
Yea, that is why Barr went to work for the anti-freedom ACLU.
And then brought a lawsuit to get the Republican/Democrat nominee names off the presidential ballot over some technical rule.
