Re: “he was a hardcore liberal Democrat. Just like Robert Redford, George Clooney and Michael Moore. These are the people that are attempting to turn America into a socialist state. Wake up, you numb-nuts.”

I totaly agree with you! I can’t believe how many on this website have said he was great guy -

Obviously, they have not done their homework.

He strongly supported many of the things that are so anti-conservative!

$228,300 to Democrats
$250 million to charity

I think, in balance, his good deeds outweighed his bad. :o)

RIP Cool Hand

Paul Newman was a proud liberal Democrat and a political activist who supported all the causes and issues related to the leftwing agenda. Everything from big government, welfare state socialism, class warfare, social engineering, abortion rights, gay rights, heavy taxation, etc etc etc.

Sometimes even conservatives need to be reminded with something more than just a simple RIP acronym.

In recent years Newman supported both Bill and Hillary Clinton, Algore, John Kerry, Ned Lamont, Chris Dodd and Al Franken. In the past he supported Eugene McCarthy, Jimmy Carter and George McGovern. Newman also supported FDR, Truman, RFK, LBJ, JFK and that great liberal intellectual and two time Presidential loser to General Eisenhower, Adlai Stevenson. Outside of Joe Lieberman, can't think of one liberal Newman wouldn't support.

Here's what Newman said about Pres GW Bush:

"I am proud now to stand with a new generation of Democrats against a president who poses what I believe to be the biggest internal threat to American democracy in my lifetime."

Here's a link to Newman's letter on behalf of the Senate Democrat Campaign Committee.

PS - Newman didn't care for President Reagan either. He thought Reagan "was institutionalizing national disregard for those in need". Typical liberal jackass.

Yes, but can't you put away your HATRED for liberals for a few days. I met him a few times -- once at his 'HOLE IN THE WALL' camp, another at Lime Rock Raceway and many times at 'SHADY GLEN', a restaurant he and Joanne stop at in Connecticut.

Yes, he is a liberal, but it is still a sad day that one of Hollywood's great actors died.

Didn't some of you complained about KOS and DU didn't like what they were saying when William F Buckley died?? You are doing the same to a LIBERAL -- TRASHING HIM.
