'I am so pleased this is getting play. When it happened, a liberal friend of mine sent me a text message--it drove her crazy! (She started out saying McCain stumbled, but by the end said "McCain won running away, but the media will spin it to Obama.")'

Wow! Talk about a blind squirrel finding an acorn!

I do have to give your Liberal friend some credit for taking off her Rose Colored Obama Glasses. That certainly takes courage.

...Meanwhile, I had to call a truce with one of my Christian Liberal friends due to some rather acrimonious email exchanges; I told her I'd rather not end our friendship over two men who probably wouldn't give us the time of day. And it's also one reason I refuse to discuss this with my mother.

That's a good response.

I can talk politics with this lib because she makes a point of telling me and everyone else that I'm one of the smartest people she knows, and she doesn't argue politics with me because "you know more than me."

Soon my takeover will be complete...and she's an ex-girlfriend, to boot!

Only ONE of those men wouldn't give you the time of day.

Don't give in to ignorance by dissing your candidate, even if it's saving a friendship. I have liberal friends, but I don't give an inch because the facts are on my side.

I do not mean to offend. I just don't buy into this get along at all costs mantra. It hasn't worked out for President Bush has it? I don't compromise when ignorance turns into stupidity.

Nobody questions my veracity, whether it's friend or family.

I had a Christian Liberal (and I put the words in that order deliberately, because to them, liberal is the dominant thing and Christian merely a modifier) who, after a long debate, spouted that it was my Christian duty to support the teachers’ unions and give them the money they deserve.

Though he was a Christian brother, I had to quell the urge to smack him down. But I took it as a blessing in disguise to learn that he is not really my brother or friend if he thinks that I am not doing my duty by following my calling and living according to my interpretation.

Christian Liberal

There's no such thing as a "Christian Liberal". She's either a Christian or she's a liberal. The two terms are incompatible.

one of my Christian Liberal friends

I'm not able to have liberal friends. I truly do look at their ideology as a horrible mental disorder. I can't stand to be around them.
