That incident of G.H.W Bush looking at his watch conveyed the image of a man impatient to get it over with. Obama's mention of the bracelet looked like a cheap and tasteless followup. How do you forget the name of the soldier on it? That should have been second nature to Obama. His reaction made him look inept and clueless - not something a potential President wants to project.

It showed the American people that Obama is indeed a phony. Only wearing a bracelet as a campaign prop and then not even remembering the name on the bracelet? Someone probably gave it to him just before he went on stage. He hasn’t been wearing this thing very long, that’s for sure.

I am so pleased this is getting play. When it happened, a liberal friend of mine sent me a text message--it drove her crazy! (She started out saying McCain stumbled, but by the end said "McCain won running away, but the media will spin it to Obama.")
I thought, "Bush 41 looking at his watch moment".

It gave the impression that the only reason he is wearing the bracelet is just so he can tell a story for votes.
I thought the quote of the night, that highlights Obama’s total lack of judgement and naivety, was
“So we sit down with Iran and they say they’ll wipe Israel off the face of the map and we [Obama] say “no you won’t”.

I coudn't agree more. I'm glad you posted this.
This shows the vapid empty suit Obama for what he is. A worthless man in a nation that cares deeply about those fine men who defend us all.
For Obama, it's just scripted platitudes for our warriors. For McCain, it's a heartfelt and sincere acknowlegdement of those who give their all to keep us free.

Did Obama Have a 'Bush Looking At His Watch' Moment Tonight?I wonder if we had a "Bush looking at his watch" moment tonight. After McCain talked about the bracelet from the mother of a slain soldier, Obama mentioned that he had one, too....

Your friend is right... and the media will lie anyway! That's their nature.

I don’t think it matters. I think that this is going to be the rare case where the debates matter because even Zogby has said people don’t really know Obama. How can you know a void?

I do have to give your Liberal friend some credit for taking off her Rose Colored Obama Glasses. That certainly takes courage.
...Meanwhile, I had to call a truce with one of my Christian Liberal friends due to some rather acrimonious email exchanges; I told her I'd rather not end our friendship over two men who probably wouldn't give us the time of day. And it's also one reason I refuse to discuss this with my mother.

“the Democratic candidate had to stop and look at it to find out the name of the soldier he’s honoring.”
Huh.
Guess it wasn’t “Seared....SEARED into his memory.”
He’s no John Kerry.

That's a good response.
I can talk politics with this lib because she makes a point of telling me and everyone else that I'm one of the smartest people she knows, and she doesn't argue politics with me because "you know more than me."
Soon my takeover will be complete...and she's an ex-girlfriend, to boot!

Its says something about people that some of them want to hand over the keys of the Oval Office to a man they know nothing about. We all know what happened with Jimmy Carter. I think there are a lot of people too young to remember what an utter disaster he was. I'd hate to see that learning experience repeated all over again.

The Bracelet Moment is a perfect distillation of 0bama.
Fraudulent concern that is little more than political posturing.
He has a bracelet, but he doesn’t even know the name on it.
But we’re supposed to believe that he really, really cares.

I work with people in their early twenties who think Carter is awesome. One is currently reading a book about Mao. Yes, I know, shocking, eh?
