Yep, nearly threw the keyboard through the screen when he said that. Beginning at 7:39, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6vPSyvg4PU

"Two years ago I warned that because of the subprime lending mess, because of the lax regulation that we were potentially going to have a problem and tried to stop some of the abuses and mortgages that were taking place at the time. Last year I wrote to the secretary of the treasury, uh, to make sure that he understood the magnatude of this problem and to call on him to, uh, bring all of the stake holders together to try to deal with it."

Yeah, the messiah giving the Sec'y of the Treasury a clinic on the financial status of the country. What a joke.

I’d like to see that letter to the Secretary of the Treasury, wouldn’t you?

PS. Don’t you love it when we can call the news jerks to do their jobs by pointing out all this nosense that Obama spouted.

Evidently, Mr. Obama didn't bother to give Dodd, Frank, or Schumer a “heads up” regarding these “abuses”. They remained blissfully unaware until just the last few weeks!

I am seriously skeptical of these claims, if anyone had any doubts.
