His hesitancy to engage him eye to eye was still apparent though, and it still bothers me...

If you are thinking..I am not going to look at the guy..I think you might do it least do it a couple of times by reflex.
He was tortured quite a bit. He might have had to turn his body to look at him. Also remember that he has been up dealing with the financial crisis. His body probably seizes up more with lack of sleep, etc.
So you wanted McCain to get hung with the "picking on the black boy" tag.
That's interesting since a group of undetermined voters in Las Vegas thought McCain was too mean.
