My friend from chad country in FL just called and said she’d watched, felt Obama was so much more polite, called McCain “John,” but McCain looked weak, couldn’t even look Barak in the eye.
However, she cannot stand Michelle Obama so I think I can convince her to vote McC.
If my Mom, my brother and his wife who are Democrats told me two weeks ago that they were voting for John McCain...that surprised me because I don’t ever believe in my lifetime I could vote for the DeathParty BUT they are Democrats who are voting for our Republican candidate...Now that says A LOT! How many other FReepers share the same story with delight.
Don’t forget folks, Kerry was supposedly the winner of the first Presidential debate with Bush and a lot of us thought Bush took him to the woodshed.

He could have been a LOT stronger, for the reasons you mention. He could have distanced himself perfectly from George Bush and trashed one of Obama’s favorite criticisms of him.

I would say 7-0 Obama at the end of the 1st quarter, 10-7 McCain at the half, 35-10 McCain when the clock hit 0.
Did you hear any of the pundits talk about Obama's childish behavior? his smirking, inappropriate laughter, his trying to interrupt McCain?
I've been watching Fox News. They had a group of people as some casino or hotel and they were asked who they thought won the debate. More said they thought Obama won. The reasons why? He talked about the little people, and he cared about ordinary people. One guy said McCain came across mean, and another woman said he talked too much about his experience.

THANK YOU! I’m compiling a list of these mistakes Obama made, and will put it up on my blog later tonight. Obama is an idiot if he thinks people aren’t going to remember these things, and call him out. Now, if only the media would do their damn jobs instead of covering for him, all would be well with the world, and he would be out of contention, IMHO.
Sen. John McCain won the debate, point counterpoint. Obama looked like some law professor in over his head, deliberating, contemplating, trying to keep up with McCain.

The fact that she made the point that Obama didn’t stutter and McCain did told me right away that she was already an avid Obama supporter. Why would that be the first thing to respond to. And yes, he did stutter. But what destroyed Obama was that he was on defense the whole time. By the way, can liberals ever do anything where they don’t have to cheat, it was supposed to be a focus group of undecideds.
