The Brilliance of McCain's Move
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Friday, September 26, 2008 | Dick Morris

Posted on 09/26/2008 1:55:20 PM PDT by TSchmereL

Dick Morris is predicting that the Democrats will pass the Republican version of the bailout, which most will view more favorably, and McCain "comes out of the process as the hero who made it happen." Dick Morris says "This bold move by McCain is about to work. Big time." I know, I know. It's Dick Morris. But I hope he is right.

We don’t have cable/satellite/etc. As such, we refuse to sit through the ‘alphabet media’ with their talking heads talking over McCain. Need to find an online live feed w/o audible subtitles. Help.

I bet the democrats will pass their bill without the republicans in Congress...

I hope they do.

The RNC could blanket the airwaves from now till Nov. 4 with ads:

"Hey voters! Democrats just GAVE Wall Street crooks $700 billion of YOUR hard earned tax dollars. Vote McCain. Vote integrity"

McCain blew it.

What. It was a masterstroke. O took credit for being on the phone with all the heavy hitters working out a deal only to discover there was and still is no deal. Then he had to chase McCain to DC where 0 threw a hissy fit in the WH. Then he went to the gym saying you know where to find me. Now, he has to chase McCain back to MS, all the while having been so disrupted chasing McCain around trying to stay in front of the action while multi-tasking that he has not been preparing for the debate.

McCain was probably more or less planning on winging the debate anyway, except for a few zingers he will have up his sleeve to send 0 spinning even more. This is what a good attack pilot does.

No, sit quietly and observe while a master tactician dazzles you.

Charlie Gasparino on CNBC ripped Dodd and Frank a new one today after Reid’s press conference in which the Dems tried to pin the blame for this mess on the Republicans. Charlie was uncharacteristically livid and the rest of the crew tried to shut him down. CNBC and especially Charlie have high credibility on the Street. They do a pretty good job of keeping an arms-length from partisan politics to keep that credibility, but Charlie broke out today and was marvelous.

put 0bama and the Democrats squarely on the side of Bush.

If I wasn't so cynical, I would think that this entire scenario of the past few days was developed in the mind of Rove....

.... devise a way that McCain could PROVE his independence while connecting the ass-clown Dems to the outgoing and impotent GWB.

BO will look like a little boy that lost his Mommy in the mall.

Can algore compute the carbon footprint of 0's wild goose chase to DC and back trying to keep up with McCain doing a number on his head. If McCain can do that to his campaign, what will Putin to his Presidency and our country. I am ROFLMAO. If BJ was nothing but a houndog, 0 is nothing but a goofy lappuppy.

(Did anyone hear my head explode?)

Why would they hash this out without the input of the future president? Either McCain or Obama? Of course they both should have been there!

McCain was in the meeting yesterday that was handed to Obama to lead and then fell appart because Hussein had no clue what he was talking about! (Rush is the only person who revealed the real reson that meeting collapsed.) Armed with that experience of Obama, McCain could have some fun tonight.

Well, McCain still needs to step through that door himself.
He should say in his opening remarks that the reason he came to the debate tonight was to speak directly to the American people about the alternative plan to the $700 Billion Bush-0bama-Paulson Bailout.

Me too. I believe that God is on the side of good when it is up against evil and the Marxist ideas harbored by Obama have been shown throughout history to be truly evil. As Ephesians 6:12 says,

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.".

That is why we must continue to oppose evil wherever we find it, whether it be in the Middle East or here at home!

I feel like McCain tricked Obama to DC. He put them on the defensive and forced Obama to play his hand. I'm upset as you are; watching FOX tonight, I didn't hear an explanation of Dem's behavior at the meeting last night. I wanted their true colors seen.

I'm praying with you and all will be well. Read Psalms and how David was constantly on the run and hurting because of his enemies. Also, think of the good thing...at least Socialism has been in the public vocabulary for the first time in ages. I can't remember the last time I heard that word in the news. People don't talk about it any more.

Blessings

I really like Dick Morris and that’s about as fair and balanced as I’ll allow myself to admit these days.

Baraq has been preparing for this debate for a week. John McCain has been preparing for this debate for almost 40 years.

Like I said, going to the prom isn’t a bad idea. Getting a dress ain’t a bad idea. Going without the dress is a bad idea. He needed to come to the debate and look at teh camera and say. “I couldn’t accept the bill worked out by the president and democrats because it is too expensive, it fails to put an end to the irresponsible government practices of encouraging loans to the uncreditworthy, it is encumbered by earmarks to ACORN and groups that do not have the interest of the taxpayer at heart, and it hasn’t been clearly enough explained to the American people. I will not vote for anything that doesn’t meet these conditions.”

He couldn’t say this because he hasn’t gotten the House Rs clear on what they will sign. Hence he should ahve stayed in DC and been working on it.
