As soon as I blogged on the possibility that storm season could show Jindal may have been the smarter choice, commenters in conservative forums were calling me a Marxist mainstream media louse who was surely making the suggestion to sabotage a right-wing dream ticket (though, it should be said, McCain was in the not-too-distant past considered a poseur Republican, and any pundit who pitched him in the primary over Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee was roundly castigated). Never mind that I was suggesting another Reagan Republican as McCains ideal running mate...

I think Jindal said he wasn’t interested.
DUMBEST QUESTION I’VE HEARD THE PAST 4 YEARS!
“Should McCain Have Picked Jindal Instead?”
No.
Jindal is great, and will hopefully be president some day. But the time was right for Sarah Palin as VP.
1.) Governor Jindal would not accept. 2.) what is wrong with Governor Palin? 3.) McCain will win or lose regardless of his pick of Palin or Jindal.
Jindal is great, and will hopefully be president some day. But the time was right for Sarah Palin as VP.
Time to close ranks my friend!...put the differences and problems aside and get with the program. Call the radio talkers and tell them also.
The blog post is beyond stupid and serves no purposes other filling a quota.
Nope! We need him for 7 more years.
He's smart, too...
Conservatives can be a skittish bunch.
Yeah, that’s the ticket. Pick a 30-something year old governor whose state was being pounded with a hurricane during the convention. Nobody on the left would make anything bad out of that.
The writer makes a good case but if I could press a button and transform history such that McCain had picked Jindal instead of Palin... I wouldn’t press that button.
NO!
McCain picked a smart, conservative woman as vp and rallied his base. The best pick he could have made. Anyone can be made to look “bad” through gotcha questions and wonderful editing.
That being said, I believe McCain chose well when selecting his running mate.
You’re a Marxist mainstream media louse.
Like,...duh!
Palin is the perfect antidote for McCain.
She can pick Jindal in 2012.
1. Jindal didn’t want it.
2. Palin has a longer and better record as governor. Jindal started out slow and then pulled up his socks and recovered.
3. Palin is a knockout choice.
4. Does this woman think the press wouldn’t have found 500 tons of fake dirt, smears, and lies to dig up on Jindal if he had been nominated?
