McCain is heading back to Washington after the debate to resume his role in trying to solving the crisis.

I see a great final comment: "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to Washington for crucial financial crisis negotiations while my opponent continues campaigning."

Then why take the drastic and overly dramatic step of suspending your campaign 40 days before the election? Based on your theory (which I agree with), he doesn’t need to be there every step of the way. Couldn’t he put his two cents in without coming before the cameras, suspending his campaign and asking to delay the debate?

He wants to keep Obama off-balance and not let the RATS know what his position is. Especially prior to tonight!

My sense is that McCain’s position will end up mid-way between Bush and Shelby.

McCain will not agree to a deal w/o the support of the House GOP caucus, or he’s cooked.

Hey spin for McCain all you want. But don’t twist recent statements from his campaign, “McCain will participate in Friday night’s debate if a bill is passed by Friday morning, his adviser Mark Salter said.”

Take it anyway you want, but McCain is debating after he said he would only if a deal was passed. The fact he didn’t ride into Washington and get Republican to back a bad deal I’m thankful. If you want to call that real courage go ahead, to me it looks politically stupid. MCain had me charged up when he picked Palin, lately he’s been reminding me of why I didn’t support him in the primaries.

"He wants to keep Obama off-balance and not let the RATS know what his position is."

Don't you think, we, the American public deserve to know McCain's position? How can you defend his position if you don't even know what it is?

Courage, teddyballgame courage.

Maloderous twit.

The average person hasn’t read the press release from McCain’s camp, and if they have, their attention deficit inherited from thi society won’t remember.

The fact is that McCain asked for a delay. Obama said no.

Why are they having this debate? Because Obama said no delay.

Choke on that.

I could not agree more.

When I first read this yesterday, my first thought was, not a good move.

2. McCain will go into the debate FIRED UP. He doesn’t need to study up on the issues because he know his stuff and doesn’t have to make it up or remember what he said yesterday.

Believe me.. The way he's getting railroaded and B.S'd by Dems in Congress and the MSM, he has to be hotter than hell right now.

I guess you can make a case that, strictly speaking, his flight into Washington, attending the meeting called by the president and conferring with others constitutes action taken "to address this crisis."

But we all know that his comments were taken by the public and the media talking heads to mean something actually accomplished - if not a final bill or signed agreement something tangible like an agreement in principle.

It doesn't matter if we can rationalize his words and actions and convince ourselves that his acts match his words.
What matters is what the voters think, and I'm afraid they will see it as smoke and mirrors and no significant accomplishments.

The best, most successful manager I ever knew operated on the principle that motion and activity do not constitute achievements - only actual, measurable results count as achievements.

Of course he did. McCain’s continued failure to show any fortitude with regards to legislation can’t really be much of a surprise. I’m sure he’s in charge of some Gang of Idiots that will take ownership of whatever this silly scheme is. Are we sure it’s not too late to make Palin our nominee?

At this point in the election cycle we’re trying to influence a very small percentage of the electorate. Those so-called undecideds and swingable democrats will be avidly watching the debate tonight. More will be watching than prior to the will he/won’t he show up media watch.

McCain is a political animal...don’t underestimate his use of the media.

You expose your stealth agenda, n00b. Didn’t your teachers tell you not to be so obviously anti-McCain? You poor thing, you’re probably an Obama operative up in Virginia.

Yes, I don’t trust McCain and so that makes me LESS Conservative, gotcha. Even though he’s spent the better part of his career selling us out. Obviously I would prefer him as President, but now he’s shown he’s not even tactically capable of making an effort. Try thinking for yourself, b00b.
