"We're dry. We've got no gas here," Hussain, the station's manager, said Monday morning.

Well Hussain, better hope Hussein doesn't win because then your troubles will be getting much worse.

Same here in our area of NE Alabama. We have stations that have been out for a week or more now. Some are going on TWO weeks!!! Prices still high because there is no gas.

Under the Obama plan gas will only be a dollar a gallon. But there won’t be any gas. Oh well at least the price is fair.

32 MPG baby — I knew I kept that old ‘97 Mustang convertible runnin’ good for a reason. It was a beautiful day for it too!

Felt kinda g@y though — driving a bright red mustang with a tan interior around mid-town ;-)

I saw gas here in Colorado Springs for $3.41 today. No lines here.

“Why is it that so many middle easterners now run the gas stations/ convenience stores?
I noticed it before I left Memphis in 2004, and it had spread to to even rural stations.”

I had two gas stations in my family owned by older relatives, both long retired, one in their late 70s, one in their early 80s.

Both told me after decades there was no money in gas sales.

Gas stations now are convenience stores that sell gas to bring customers in. And it’s pump your own.

I’m an hour outside of ATL. Have been wondering as my kids travel on buses to football games, etc. - how are all of the school buses filling up without problems? Do they use diesel?

Just so you don't feel all alone...

Gas shortages reportedly critical in western N.C.

“when I did find gas, some soccer mom next to me proceeded to fill her car and then pull four 5 gallon cans out of the trunk.”

Which is precisely why the prices should be allowed to go up. Is there some anti price gouging legislation there or some price control government stuff happening? What is the price per gallon?

It’s bad here in Charlotte. VERY hard to find gas and huge lines when a tanker pulls in. They say we’re getting huge shipments tomorrow. We shall see...

“Gas stations now are convenience stores that sell gas to bring customers in.”

Yes, I know that. There are very few, if any, traditional service stations, but that does not answer my question.

Why are so many run or owned by middle easterners?

I'm in Alpharetta:
Monday night I had to borrow my brothers Costco card because that was the only place around me with gas. Checked 6 stations all were out, I was on dead empty. Costco had gas but I didn't have card.

Diesel seems to be plentiful. Regular is very spotty and higher grades almost non existent. I talked to our ADT rep this morning who drives all over town and he said it is the same from north to south.

Talked to the local corner store yesterday and he said he gets less than half a load maybe every three days, but no guarantees.

Hoping the weekend helps as everyone stays home and the “forbidden” gas comes off the pipe.

The pump where I stopped said "Limit purchase to $50".

“how are all of the school buses filling up without problems? Do they use diesel?”

Have you ever seen a school bus at a gas station?
Not likely.
If it is a public school, they have their own gas supply
at their bus garage.

All of the stations in Forsyth County have either run out completely or get gas followed by long lines until it runs out again. Personally it doesn’t affect me since my commute is only 2 miles round trip but we are planning to drive down to Orlando mid October, hopefully they will have it straightened out by then. In the meantime they should limit people to 10 gallons per purchase until things stabilize. The ideal would be to raise the price high enough to discourage people from topping off “just in case” and leave it for the people who actually need it. But, thanks to anti-gouging laws which are encouraging hoarding, that won’t happen.

Yep da guv announced that recently and many stations went dark rather than buy gas they can make a profit on. That and the ridiculous EPA regs we are hampered with on gas blends.

Yes, most use diesel and there doesn’t seem to be a problem with diesel.
