Fox News Blames Democrats for Financial Crisis, Bill Clinton Agrees

Going very much against the media meme that the current financial crisis is all George W. Bush and the Republicans' fault, Bill Clinton on Thursday told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac" , relevant section at 2:45).

Whether he knew it or not, Clinton was going against virtually all press outlets that have been pointing fingers at Republicans since this crisis began, and likely much to the dismay of such folk actually agreed with a Fox News segment aired on Tuesday's "Special Report" (video embedded right):

I think that is the real story and I also think that Bill Clinton actually does like Senator McCain

I realized that after watching Clinton on The View.  Clinton had nothing be good things to say about McCain.  I thought the hens would go crazy when Clinton said that Only McCain can win. One of the hens quickly spoke up and said, you mean the only republican.  LOL!

Don’t forget about McCain and Hillary’s vodka shot contest when they travelled together to Estonia. I guarantee she respects McCain a lot more than she does Obama.

I would never EVER refer to Senator Obama as a “clown,” no matter what other issues I have with him, he is a serious contender with a very serious agenda. While I tend to view the some of the many charges against his ability to lead as hyperbole, I find there are some charges that have been PROVEN true to be issues on which I will not compromise.

What I pray for every night is that we get the leadership we need, not what we deserve, I will only say that if Senator Obama manages to pull off POTUS, I want him and his family safe and sound. I will not think ill of those who supported him, nor will I gloat over his lesser successes.

That he might have a chance to pull off POTUS without a transparent view to his history, his overview for where he wishes to lead this country, is a condemnation of us all. All I need is truth, I can handle the rest.

Important to understand that Clinton is only honest when it is to his advantage. He is starting "Hillary in 2012 Campaign" and needs to make sure Obama is not elected even if it means throwing all Dems under the bus.

This is very fun to watch.

I'm sure of it.  Hillary has bigger cojones than Obama.

What will also be interesting is where will Hillary be positioned when all this is over? She’s been awfully quiet so far.

I think she may make a power play to take over Majority Leader from Harry Reid.

Clinton’s are willing to do anything to keep Fauxbama from the White House, even if it means (gasp) telling the truth.

No one said YOU referred to Obama as a “clown.” I SAID IT! And I stand by it. I could’ve called him an “asshat” as have so many others here. Ooohh, nasty!

And I don’t wish Oblahma well and I do “think ill of those who support him.” I think they are uninformed and/or just plain foolish.

His “serious agenda” (your words)is seriously dangerous.

Wasn’t it Bill Clinton who signed into law the act, passed by a Republican-controlled congress, that finally killed Glass-Steagall? Anybody think that was a good idea? Just asking?

Me thinks Bill is trying to point the fingers at the Dems to avoid getting splattered with blame himself for his part in the whole disaster. I think he learned from 9/11 when he was quite defensive about not getting Bin Laden when the opportunity was available. This is very similar only now the tack Bill is taking is very much one that isolates him from blowback. If the Dems object too harshly there will be a civil war within the Dem party and Obambi loses for sure.

Do you think Bill is campaigning for head of the Dem party after the elections force a Dean ouster?.

It’s quite the Dems threw Hillary under the bus and the Clinton’s are paying then back in spades.

Howie Dean vs. Billy-boy Clinton - who’s taking bets on this fight?

That’s as may be. All I want is truth, and I can handle it from there. It’s the damned half-truths, covered up truths, swept under the carpet truths — absence of truth — it just screws up the ability to get it right. I’m not talking about “a” truth, but “the” truth.

As I recall, this mess began with Clinton’s administration, so is he owning up to it to take the heat off the Federal Reserve or what?

More likely he wants to polish his legacy - doesn't matter what the truth was as long as he can get enough people to pick this up and repeat it.

And if it also helps sink the "ONE" - so much the better.

an aside" He kept going on, on Gretta's show, about his great admiration of Todd Palin, twice mentioning Todd's finishing one of those IronRod races, going over 500 more miles with a broken arm.

Almost comical the way he kept 'admiring' him. But if he's thinking he can butter up First Dude in order to get a chance to get close to the pretty lady - he's liable to find himself out in the tundra with more than a broken arm.
