Push Is On To Legalize 12 Million, Let More In
Arizona Daily Star/CAPITOL MEDIA SERVICES ^ | 9-25-08 | Howard Fischer

PHOENIX — Local and national business groups are paying for a media campaign — launched Wednesday in Arizona — to convince voters this country has done enough to secure the border.

Instead, backers say the U.S. now needs to legalize the 12 million or more undocumented immigrants already here and consider allowing more foreigners into the country. The group, Mexicans and Americans Thinking Together, plans to spend "several hundred thousand dollars" on TV ads in four states. Jim Pignatelli, president and chief executive officer of UniSource Energy Corp., the parent of Tucson Electric Power, said it's time to move the debate along and find ways to help businesses get the workers they need.

Pignatelli said the best place to start is with those already here. "You can't ignore 10 to 12 million people who are trying to make a living, who are undocumented," he said.

Pignatelli said if they could somehow be deported "it would take years for another 10 to 12 million to come in" to fill the jobs they are doing now. "These people are providing valued services to the economy," he said.

The commercial says there have been "incredible strides" made in border security, the number of deportations is up and there are stronger penalties against employers who hire undocumented workers. Glenn Hamer, president of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said those accomplishments are fine, as far as they go.

This push in spite of our current economic problems. Guess I just don't get the big picture.

It’s ridiculous, we can’t afford this bullshit. They are already bankrupting us. Anyone who pushes for this bull has never worked an honest day’s labor in their life, they are completely out of touch with reality and and totally out of touch with real people, unless of course they are socialists, in which case they don’t give a damn about bankrupting the United States, in fact, that would be a good thing, the quicker the commies can finally be out in the open about who they really are.

With the sky falling in the US economy, there will be plenty workers for the power company in AZ. They’ll be lining up around the block to apply.

We can send all the illegals back to their own countries because we definitely will not need them.

Sheridan Bailey, owner of an iron-fabricating company in Phoenix, said the desire for more foreign workers is not simply a question of companies wanting people willing to work cheap, contending there aren't enough workers within the borders of the United States to solve the problem.

Lying sack of dung.

This is exactly the issue that troubles me in the McCain department. I like Palin, but I am wavering toward voting against amnesty by not voting for McCain.

1. Why is the number still 12 million ? It was 12 million 8 years ago.

2.“UniSource Energy Corp., the parent of Tucson Electric Power” ICE has two more targets of opportunity.

I have felt the same way but think that Obama would be even worse than McCain. When amnesty is brought up, once again we will be called upon to force congress to drop it like we did last time. Remember Pres. Bush was a big backer, even made the statement that he would see us at the signing..well didn't work then and won't work now. So I am voting Palin/McCain.

I’m voting Palin/McCain as well. The other day I watched when he said he was all about giving the 500 thousand illegal Irish amnesty. Totally disgusting but the only other option is Hussein.

The public needs to look at this in a more realistic perspective and begin to incarcerate those fomenting rebellion.

There are many poor Hispanics from Central America who have been raised in a culture believing the Estados Unidos is a golden land of opportunity, where if they have the endurance to strive and persevere the journey, they will have just as much as they have in their homeland, with greater opportunity to save and later either remain here as wealthy immigrants, or return home with some savings.

If the economy collapses, there will be many illegal immigrants, many of who are worldly in nature, who perceive they have a fair chance to succeed, provided they obey Heffe. When all of the sudden, that dream collapses, frustration will set in. Furthermore, many illegals have depleted their total economic worth just to make it here in their travel. They live off the land or as opportunity avails.

For many illegal aliens, if no opportunities exist here, and they are broke, and they came from a criminally based society, there will be little worldly incentive for them to respect legitimate authority. On the contrary, if they are hungary, some would argue they would at least get a free meal and a trip back home or to the border if law enforcement arrested them. There will be very little cost involved in their risk to commit criminal acts, especially theft, burglary, home invasions, kidnapping, and a litany of other crimes no so uncommon amongst their culture upon those perceived as wealthy.

Even worse, if an economic collapse is even perceived, these activities not only are likely to increase, they may also reach riotous levels, headed towards political revolution endorsed by groups such as MECHA and AZTLAN.

California might be challenged to remain a state in the US if a major natural seismic event occurred coincidental to our economic pressures and likely political unrest from illegal aliens.

The bigger picture....In 2002 Bush challenged financial institutions to give credit and mortgages to illegal aliens. I believe this was done in an effort to get and keep illegal aliens even MORE entrenched in our country. In doing so, they knew it would be impossible to deport these new homeowners and in order to keep the homeowners accountable, amnesty would be necessary as well. My bigger picture, however, goes a lot further. I believe that the destruction of our economy is something that the ‘powers that be’ think will make it easier for Americans to swallow their cure.... The North American Union/Amero.

What a laugh. A pig like Pignatelli vomits on the Americans in Arizona by claiming he can't get enough workers for TEP.

I was born and raised in Tucson. It's a low wage, zero opportunity town. I left with the ink on my Engineering degree still wet. Back then - and now - getting a job at a place like TEP was like pulling teeth. It was one of the few reasonably well paid jobs. It's a utility, you know?

This was when Tucson was oh, about 85% white Anglo ( I say Anglo because there are lots of white Spaniard Mexicans in Tucson, people who are prevalent in Northern Sonora, not Mestizos). If anything, the employment picture there now is far worse with the masses of illegals who have poured in, although I must admit that Tucson is not all that bad off, the illegals usually keep on going because there are so few opportunities there!

Personally I think we should send Mr. Pignatelli back to Italy, it's really a shame his ancestors were let into our country so he could screw it up with his brand of contempt for Americans.

Somehow, I do not believe Americans are in the mood to hear this at the moment.

If ever the time was right for some kind of revolt, it would be if our "representatives" insists upon this course.
