"It's in this spirit that I reached out and called to -- called to Senator McCain this morning. I initiated the call, after determining that many of the principles that I had set forth were ones that Senator McCain had adopted as well, in terms of how this financial proposal should be structured."

Are we seeing the beginnings of the meltdown of the Obamessiah's campaign?? I smell a lot of fear coming from the liberals lately...
The Dems are always "reaching out" ... usually to pick our collective pocket.
He called but McCain was tied up so McCain called him back this afternoon and told him he was going to DC and invited Obama to join him. Obama later in his press conference admitted that he did not talk to McCain this morning when he was saying if they needed him they would call but he didn’t see a reason to go and not have the debate.
He makes me puke.
STFU
Someone should remind Mr. Obama that he is a U.S. Senator for the State of Illinois. Whether or not his colleagues “need” him there, he should be there looking after the interests of his state.
McCain won that one.
McCain sure did win that one — point/set/match all in Sen McCain’s favor.
Liar.
” Was it just me, or was Obama seeming to be almost childish in this speech today?...”He copied me! Wah!!! I started it first!!”
My thoughts, exactly.
McCain rolled Obama today.
In fact, McCain rolled out the red carpet for Obama and Obama smugly and snidely blew off McCain.
Another blunder by Obama.
a man too big for the job he’s got, no sooner will he be Prez than he’ll want to be potentate of the world.
And that's leadership?!?!?!?!?!
I think Bush is right by calling both McCain and Obama to Washington to work on this. It is an emergency, and one of these two guys is going to have to lead this country come January. I would think that the current president, as well as the two candidates, should be involved in negotiating the nature of the bailout (assuming there should be a bailout, which I'm not so sure of). Obama thinks it's leadership to let others figure out what to do so that he can tell them how they got it wrong.
I guess this, too, is above his pay grade.
“Republicans and Democrats, the White House and Congress need to work together to come up with a solution that protects American taxpayers and our economy, without rewarding those whose greed helped bring us to this point. This cannot fall victim to the usual partisan politics or special interest lobbying.”
...blah blah blah, markets bad, blah blah blah, government good, blah blah blah...
Translation: I misread McCain terribly. I had no idea he actually meant what he was saying.
Obama had no conception of the idea of country first.
He probably thinks that it is beneath his pay grade.
Did he actually say he had a plane with his seal on it, which could get him to DC fast? Why bring up his phony presidentail seal again??
Has he issued a statement yet on Larry Sinclair?
Just sayin
With Obama I get the feeling anything above food stamps is above his pay grade.
However, my opinion on him is that even if he were unemployed and collecting food stamps we’d still be paying him too much.
