Please freep this poll ping!
Thanks
I voted twice. No, and HELL NO
NO, No, no and no!
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
If this is passed, the markets will respond favorably and McCain will have a better chance of winning. We can do fixes later.
If it doesn't pass, the economy will likely tank in these next 42 days and Obama will have a better chance of winning.
This is born out of voter's belief that Obama can better handle the economy and that if fears about the economy do not abate within the next 40 days, we will be handing the keys to the White House to Obama.
Sorry, but that is what is driving my decision. Too much is at stake.
Something will get passed, but it won’t be the Paulson plan.

Where is, it is above my pay grade? //sarc
I voted once for pass and one for pass a modified version (since Paulson’s original plan was just an outline).
It already has enough votes to pass, Congress is acting angry in front of the cameras to make it seem like they are standing up for the taxpayer (even though the best for the taxpayer is passing the plan). They will add a few items to the original Paulson plan for oversight, exec comp limits and warrants for any direct purchases (i.e. not auction).
People sure are getting worked up about this. It’s a good investment in the long run.
I agree considering the alternatives. I really wonder if everyone really understands what the Paulson plan does?
Anyways I just voted for the modified version. I think the basic plan could use some improvement.
I don’t understand are there people who are against any kind of plan?
Anyone?
I have a feeling McCain has something that will be good, so I am hoping it gets a big modification. After listing to many experts (non-political) I think SOMETHING has to be done. I would not be for the Paulson plan as written, you know it is earmarked up the ass as is.
Whatever happens with this plan, it is obvious the Republicans have already lost the political battle. Imagine if things were reversed, how long would Republican chairs stay in their spots? The country already hates congress, what an easy job to pin this where it belongs. When the D talking heads say “Republicans in Congress for the past 6 of 8 years” you can see them just hoping nobody laughs in their faces. Instead the Rs will play nice and get nailed with this like Katrina and every other similar lie.
Then there’s Newt getting all huffy as if he has any power to do squat. All this outrage is very damn useless and a day late and a dollar short. Everybody has to pay lip service to not liking it but something will be passed so get on with it!!!
I’m against it, Newt laid out what to do, change the way the assets are valued. The way they are now valued makes them look like they have no value, they are intrinsically valuable because they represent something real, property. The SEC could do that with a stroke of the pen. Just because you can’t sell something right now dosen’t mean it has no value, sometimes you must hold something for a later date. I love my home, but it may not be worth what i would sell it for so I can wait, or just stay here.
