Should IL FReepers Freep Obama?
9/24/08 | Me

Posted on 09/24/2008 5:27:33 PM PDT by Thane_Banquo

Looking for input on this. Should my fellow FReepers from the great state of IL call the Messiah's Senate Office and demand he get his skinny a** back to DC and do his job? I think we could at least run interference with his offices and tie up their phone lines for a while, if nothing else. We'd also confuse his people and possibly cause him to flip flop and go back to DC.

"I'm from IL, and I'm not paying Senator Obama so he can run for President two years and then vote 'present' with $700 billion on the line. Is he going to go to San Francisco and say I'm bitterly clinging to my IRA and 401K?"

What do you think?

“Country First” is McCain’s way. You have to decide if you will be frustrated into knots if Obama doesn’t go to DC. I think it’s the right thing to do. There is more time for debate. There has been plenty of time for debate and Obama has stalled and stalled. The debate is not a requirement. If McCain, as the current standard-bearer of the GOP says he is going to DC to work in the Senate, then it would seem reasonable to request Senator Obama go do his job as well. That’s just my two-cents worth.

“The mailbox belonging to Barack Obama is full.”

I have a feeling I wasn’t the first to think of this.

He basically said “call me if you need me”, not “I'm packing up to go roll up my sleeves and get this fixed”. You can't vote ‘present’ if you are not present. You can't vote for it or against it if you are not there. This is the best position for him so he has plausible deniability if the whole plan swizzles down the toilet. He is not a leader, and certainly not Presidential. It is said that the Clinton White House management slogan was “The Buck Never Got Here”. In Barry's case it is “I already got the bucks from Freddie/Fannie so you can all kiss my narrow ass!”.

Yes, Illinois FReepers! DO it!

Right here right now, the rest of us will come up with some slogans you can all put on your signs! Come on, FReepers are the best at cleaver and insulting slogans. Maybe we should start a new thread for them.

Dem voters hold the Rats here in Illinois to no standard of conduct, proficiency, intelligence, or duty.

Uh-uh-uh-bama can’t be shamed into actually attempting any responsible legislating by the voters of Illinois.

Save your postage. Donate it to the RNC.

Yes, politely FReep him everywhere he goes.

Obama is marketed as the Golden Child. Middle of the road voters have not yet seen reasonable Americans who are willing to voice their learned opposition of him.

Every time we have an opportunity to show why his policies and history are detrimental to most Americans, the luster comes off the Golden Child.

If we try to just shout slogans, we only reinforce the claims that we are racist, etc. When we engage in polite information giving, we destroy him on reality.

Do not interfere with his self-destruction. I think Morris hit the nail tonight on O’Reilly. McCain can ride into the debate on a white horse after saving the day.

I sent the Messiah the following:

Senator Obama,

Your opponent in the Presidential campaign, Senator John McCain, has decided to suspend his campaign so he can return to Washington and work to help solve the current financial crisis. You, on the other hand, have said, "If you need me, call me."

Well, I called your office, and your voice mail box was full. I guess you didn't actually mean that "call me" thing.

But the constitution says I am entitled to representation by two Senators, not just one. Why is it, that with $700 billlion of my money on the hook, IL is the only state in the Union (besides Biden's Delaware) that gets only half of the Senate representation to which we are constitutionally entitled?

Is the change you are trying to bring a change to a less representative government, where Senators can merely skip votes when it doesn't fit their short-term political interests to stand up and be counted?

Why is it that John McCain decided to fulfill his duty to the people of Arizona, but you have decided not to fulfill your duty to me, an Illinois voter? Is my vote that cheap to you, sir?

Get back to Washington and do your job. You aren't going to win any votes by appearing alone at Friday's debate.

Thank you,
[Name Withheld]

Obama would think I’m bitter. I’m really kind of salty and sweet, like a Payday bar. Obama wants to take the payday away. That will make me bitter.
