WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Congressional Democrats Wednesday accused Sen. John McCain of injecting presidential politics into negotiations over a massive $700 billion bailout package when he decided to suspend his campaign and return to Washington to participate in the talks. Sen. John McCain called for both presidential candidates to participate in the bailout negotiations.
McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, also called for a presidential debate scheduled for Friday night to be cancelled so both he and his Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama, can return to Washington to focus on the bailout package.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the candidates' presence could be a distraction during the talks.

I suppose Harry Reid wasn’t doing this by trying to hang Barney Fag’s and Sissy Dodd’s boondoggle around Bush’s neck.
“Congressional Democrats Wednesday accused Sen. John McCain of injecting presidential politics into negotiations...”
And Barry Zer-O isn’t?
Get a grip.
McCain is a duly elected Senator from Arizona, he is doing his job, you buttheads in the media.
What do they mean “injecting politics”? McCain is a politician! He injects politics into everything he does.
Just this morning, The Democrats in Leadership positions were calling on McCain to rally his own party to solve the problem. They were trying to box McCain in saying his support could make or break a deal. Now that he called them on it, they have come unglued. What he is offering is leadership. Obama says, “call me if you need me.”
Huh?! Let me get this straight... McCain is suspending his political campaign to help out with the economic mess that the democrats created, and they are saying he's playing politics?!!!
These dems are so a$$ bacwards. Do they not realize how stupid they have become?
Noooo....the POLITICIANS injected THEMSELVES into the BAILOUT...by CREATING IT....you idiots!!!!! And, we’re PISSED!!!!
Hmm... Let’s see...
Suspending your campaign to focus on an issue is “politicizing” the issue.
Planning to attend an event to which you have been invited after a politician from the other side backs out is called “politicizing” the event.
This truly is the world of newspeak.
“Do they not realize how stupid they have become?”
Let’s hope they never do..
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!
As if the dims don’t. What a bunch of maroons.
It’s a room full of politicians, who do they think they are fooling? Sigh.
Oh, for crying out loud, it is ALL POLITICS. realistically, McCain AND Obama have a major stake in this seeing as their administration will be faced with this day one. How can they NOT be involved??? Listen to the idiots who caused the problem, Dodd and Franks front and center, politic the daylights out of this every time they see a microphone. Sheesh!
“Call me if you need me” says all. Where should you be in crisis? Where the crisis is.
Democrat politicians and their operatives cannot understand honor. They interpret everything as a crass grasp for power because that’s how they think and what they do. They cannot imagine anything else and do not believe that there is anything other than their crass way of thinking and behaving.
Yes...he is one of a hundred injecting politics into the bailout.
If Congress does not stop playing partisan games with this situation they will find themselves hanging by their heels from the lampposts after the economy collapses.
The Dems are playing it like they always have what is “right” is “wrong” what is “black” is “white.”
The Dems are going to be the ones who will be making political hay out of this since McCain is now involved.
I hope the whole Dem power base crumbles after this election and the American people finally see what the Dems really are.
How dare McCain come back to do his duty! Reid wants to do his pork and power grab in peace, without attention until it is too late.
Thats Harry’s show. Harry has been doing that every time he opens his mouth ....now now Harry....go get Nancy to hold your hand. Both of you have your own responsibility to answer for in this mess.
