I couldn’t get a Wards credit card because I didn’t have 6 months stable residence and 6 months on a job. we should go back to that sort of credit worthiness. Made me much more careful with my money.
Back in the 80’s I applied for a Sears credit card, they rejected me because at the time I wasn’t making a lot of money, I sent a letter asking if they would reconsider and give me a $100.00 limit, (hell they write off about $100 a minute), they flat out refused. About 4 years later they sent me an application out of the blue for a credit card. I wrote them a letter telling them how much money I was making and reminded them about the incident earlier in the 80’s, and told them where I was spending my money (everywhere but their stores!) I asked them why the hell they thought I would want a card now? In the 90’s I got another application and sent them a letter, etc. In early 2000 same thing. I figure I’m about due any day now for another application.
