Obama is not going to jump ahead in the polls if McCain takes his ads down for a couple of days. Honestly. This is a great “reset” button he just pushed. Obama is hidden away practicing his schpiel for the debates on Friday, McCain is seen being a leader instead of a politician. That speaks much louder than an ad. For people in the PR/Marketing business, they know that someone saying something good about you is much more valuable than you saying it about yourself. That is what is happening here. Obama is going to talk about himself and bad-mouth McCain during a crisis. McCain is going to lead. Bravo, McCain. This guy is one smart cookie, and he stands by his convictions (regardless of who he pisses off).

IOW's McCain is trying to "Freeze the Kicker"?

Very well stated and you summed up my thoughts completely. McCain is seen as a leader and not a politician in this action. Ever since Schmidt joined the campaign and McKinnon left it has been running on all cylinders that reflect the Senator — Country First!

Mac should run one ad and one ad only explaining to the public that he has taken down his political ads and in interest of helping to solve the current crisis he is canceling his participation in the first debate. He has asked bama to do so but he refused. Its all about him anyway and Mac has to be shown as effective when it comes to leading on the economy.

Let Obambi debate himself on Friday night while McCain is in late-night huddles on Capitol Hill.

If Obambi won’t agree to postpone the debate, McCain should advise that he won’t show up because he’s busy.

I certainly hope McCain takes Palin with him to Washington as well. First, that is what suspending his campaign means. Secondly, it would like she’s not worthy of being in on the big-boy stuff when it’s crunch time. Third, she’ll get an education she won’t forget and real fast.
