Intrade is just almost like a poll hardly gospel. It takes snapshots of time and gauges impacts. I am sure McCain will start to trend up but the reaction to this supposed cancellation has been mixed.
When the smoke clears we will see what this brings.

He’ll take credit, but not suspend his campaign to come to DC? What a child.

Because the CGI vent has many foreign leaders who will not be all gathered in NY for much longer. He has plenty of time to debate Obama after this week.

"why is OBAMA taking CREDIT for this idea????????"
Because he's a lying sack of $hit. He didn't want to go back to D.C. He wanted a joint statement instead. I guess we can say he won't be going back to Washington any time soon.

I don’t think this is a good idea. Nobody is going to pay attention to what he does with the economy. Go to the debate and take on Obama.

According to his job description, he’s still a U.S. senator last I checked.

No, I did it because every post that you make is an occurrence in which you soil Free Republic and miss your litter box. I will not go anywhere and I will watch your posts closely... and I am not alone.

Obama (& media friends) putting the screws into McCain right now re: cancelling their debate. Now the press all questioning Obama about McCain’s behavior. Like a love fest gossiping about a third person. I LOATHE the media.

Obama said it—President needs to be able to deal with more than one thing at once. It is more important now than ever to debate.

McCain’s statement: “I’m going back to Washigton to get something passed before the market opens on Monday.”
Obama’s statement: “I... uh... thank... uh... Coburn and... uh... and Senator McCain called me this afternoon... and... uh... let me reiterate the conditions I’ve laid out before... and... uh... we should all put politics aside... and... uh... let me go over the chronology from today... uh... I wanted to release a joint statement... uh... and... I recommended we send a clear signal... and... uh... when I got back to the hotel he had already gone on television... and... uh... we need to send a clear signal... uh.. with respect to the debates... uh.. this is exactly the right time people need to hear from us... and... uh... it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves to the american people... and.. uh.. he had already agree to a joint statement... and he mentioned that... uh... he was going to fly to washington... and... uh... this was something he was more decisive about.. or... uh.. i mean... uh...”

He can help solve the crisis best by staying out of the way and letting people that can actually grasp the subject work on it.
