As Congress and the Administration work to prevent the crisis in the financial sector from spilling over into the larger economy, the vultures are swarming. In an Associated Press article yesterday, the following quote is made by Barney Frank, ultra-liberal Democrat of Massachusetts:
“The private sector got us into this mess…The government has to get us out of it. We do want to do it carefully.”
This is obscene. This “mess”, as Congressman Frank so eloquently put it, is the fault of government pure and simple. And, it is the personal fault of Barney Frank. For him to now hide his near-criminal behavior by pointing a finger at the entire private sector is the height of arrogance.

The FBI is investigating Fannie, Freddie and its CEOs. Hopefully when they put the squeeze on Raines, he’ll cut a deal and rat out the rats.
The MSM will protect Frank and the other Democrats who created this problem. This gives them all the more incentive to win in November so that the truth will never come out. McCain needs to take advantage of this and say if the Democrats are reelected this problem will never be resolved..
I say, the Market will Fix the Market. So it takes three or four years if Obama wins, big IF. It'll take less time when McCain re-institutes the older Depression Era regulations that Clinton rescinded when he was President in 1999.
For “us” it's win-win. Obama can't do much harm and McCain can use a common sense approach. Either way, the truth about American ingenuity reigns supreme.
McCain is missing a golden opportunity here to come out against the bailout, speak out about the rats' involvement in this mess and distance himself from Bush on the $700 billion package. But he has to come out with a real alternative plan in the next two days. He needs to emerge as a leader.

Actually, Bwarney, it was the government meddling in the private sector, telling lenders whom they had to lend to, which started the engine in motion creating this mess. And now you want to paint yourself as the hero riding to our rescue. I for one don't buy it, you fat fa**ot!!!
What for - stupidity and greed? When did these become federal crimes? And if so, when are they going to start investigating Congress?

The man is a liar. Typical for a Democrat. Were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac creations of the private sector? Were Federal laws requiring banks to make bad loans a product of the private sector?

I thought it was for fraud and misrepresenting the company’s financial status. That’s a bit more serious than greed.

They are investigating them for fraud. Executives at Fannie and Freddie clearly committed fraud as did Countrywide and others.
While it would be nice if he came out with an alternative plan, he doesn’t even have to do that. He just needs to show that Democrats, Freddie and Fannie caused the problem and that if Democrats are reelected it will only get worse.
He just needs to show that he opposed what was going on at Freddie and Fannie and that Obama does not have the ability to fix the problem.
