It simply confirms that the selection was not made by Obama himself, after careful deliberation, consideration. And demonstrates that the info we have of his time in the Illinois legislature, others writing up bills, letting him carry them because it would give him *legislative cred* to run for the Senate, are not just right-wing blatherings to discredit him. Chris Matthews accused Clarence Thomas of being an "empty vessel" -- that the GOP chose him "because they needed a black guy" and filled him with what they wanted him to believe. If ever we've got a case of "They accuse you of what they do" it is the whole with Barack Obama.
