I simply cannot understand why the Coal Miner’s Unions are not jumping up and down screaming for more clean coal fired power plants. It’s like they want their jobs to disappear.....

The UMWA is not what it used to be. It lost a lot of influence back in the early 1990s when the coal industry went bust. Most miners nowadays are non-union, especially in Appalchia.

I believe the primary source of power for states east of the Mississippi are coal fired. There is some nuclear, but coal is king.
Trains run out of Wyoming every 30 minutes or so, 2 or 3 engines, 120 cars. I have seen them, and ridden a horse alongside the tracks where jostling of the cars sometimes spills coal. In some small towns in the west where homes are still heated with coal fired furnaces, they can walk the tracks and get a fair amount of coal for their efforts.

Keep talking, Joe. You will be in the dark in Congress, and it won’t be because Pelosi turned off the lights.
