This is despicable behavior! But, not unheard of. Democrats are far closer to fascists than Republicans are.

More proof that the Democrat party supports the current regime in Tehran.

A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.

"I'm absolutely appalled at the behavior of the Democrats," said Bob Kunst of Defenders.net. "I'm a Democrat and for the first time in my life I'm going to vote Republican. I can't take it anymore."

Well... there it is.

“No surprises here.”

Chicago-style Democratic politics practiced in New York? Who knew?

THIS is exactly how John McCain can/will win the election:

Let democrats go insane attacking Sarah Palin.

John McCain “my friend”, you need to let go. Stop demanding to be the one in the spotlight.

Sarah Palin can win this for you — you cannot do it yourself.

GET HER OUT FRONT.

“It’s an absolute shame that this has happened,” CBS quoted Hikind as saying. “To threaten organizations … to threaten the Conference of Presidents that if you don’t withdraw the invitation to Gov. Palin we’re going to look into your tax exempt status … that’s McCarthyism.”

It’s McCarthyism? It should be a crime. Can someone with the authority or influence to make it happen threaten IRS action to force some group or individual to decisions the threatening party desires?

There should be some arrests here if they know who made these threats.

...Democrats are far closer to fascists than Republicans are.

A statement of fact that stands on its own.

That said, this is the first explanation of the organizer's actions that I've seen that has made sense.

I can understand Hillary not wanting to be seen on stage with Governor Palin. It would look like the passing of the baton from one generation of political women to another - something I doubt Hillary is ready to do even though she is powerless to prevent it. (Isn't it great to be able to say that?)

If the organizers had really wanted to show a bi-partisan front against Iran they should have invited a different Democrat or invited a Republican Senator who, like Hillary, is not running for office at the present time.

It will be fun watching the leftists try to wiggle their way out of this. It could be a major distraction that throws them off message for a few days and it could hurt them badly with the Jewish community if they keep fumbling it.

The charge was that inviting only Palin and not also Democrat VP candidate Joe Biden is somehow a violation of "equal representation of candidates" (As NBC claimed in its report).

That charge is obviously a lie since hillary was also invited (and hillary is a much higher profile democrat than Biden since she was neck and neck with obama in the democrat presidential primary right up to the convention).

No kidding. Various groups have used the IRS as a club to beat various groups into silence since the mid 1950’s.

Oh please, they can’t just do that. They have to have probable cause to invoke the IRS rules and regs. Now if they have probable cause to invoke IRS rules and regs then let them have at it. Keep the IRS off someone else who might really be innocent. The IRS does have a rep and that rep can be attacked by Congress and the IRS doesn’t always like that. So let them try their worst.

This is the real election story: Democrats are in the position of no longer being able to deny the fascist tactics of their own party.

These sorts of comments were very prevalent on the PUMA boards after the DNC Convention. Lifelong Democrats were discovering that their party is the one against women, their party is the one that rigs elections and intimidates voters. Their party is the one that uses the power of governmental agencies against dissenters.

Anecdote:

A young married couple very tied into the social aspect of local liberal groups is at a party, very recently. In the course of discussion, the husband states they are Republican. They are forcibly told to leave the party due to their politics. They are now Republican voters for life.

I will bet that every former liberal/Democrat has experienced some version of this anecdote. Personally, I experienced this sort of behavior over 20 years ago and I know folks who experienced in since 2000, losing jobs and friendships of 25 years duration because they openly stated they would vote for W. The donks' fascist tactics are gutting their base.

And after Obama is president, just imagine the harassment they will unleash on their enemies. We’ll see then if the media watchdogs and civil liberties advocates have a problem, or if they only are concerned about government excess when it is Bush going after terrorists.

Let democrats go insane attacking Sarah Palin.

Exactly. Every untrue or exaggerated, hate based, media biased, elitist attack energizes us and undermines the credibility of the Democrats and their lap dog press.

The only fear at this point is that the attacks give them an excuse not to talk about real issues - like BH0's campaign contributions from Freddie and Fannie, Democratic opposition to regulatory reform, energy independence, etc. etc. etc.

She needs to show up at this anti-iran rally anyway. Whether they (the sponsors of the event) give her the floor or not, something tells me the people will give it to her. After all, most of those there will probably be conservatives since the Dems believe Mahmoud is not a real threat.

Bi-coastal elitist leftists, in a rage attacking a wholesome, attractive and strong willed conservative woman for having children and belonging to the NRA, could not be more about the issues.

Sarah Palin has become that battle for one square on a chess board, on which two grand masters are locked in a battle.

Perhaps the battle starts for a pawn.

By the time it stops, the game can be won or lost.

Over that one square.

My fear is Republicans learned nothing from the lesson of the last time; when NEWT GINGRICH was in that square.

Republicans caved, threw him under the bus in their best casper milquetoast, and lost all momentum from the 94 victories. Never really recovered.

Well. Providence has smiled on the GOP.

Republicans have another, *better* Newt Gingrich.

Don’t let them, make this mistake again.

FIGHT.
