I’d still prefer McCain to Obama the communist stealth candidate.

This one is a classic Will take-down on John McCain.

Read the whole thing.

Time to ping all ping lists.

Thank you in advance.

Why do I feel like we’re in a circle directing fire at ourselves rather than the enemy who is approaching in all directions from our backs? Concentrate on who poses the greatest threat to the Republic and don’t expose our candidate’s weakness any more than it is. Haven’t seen any Obama supporters expose in the press his myriad weaknesses.

“Sometimes George Will just needs to drink a huge cup of STFU.

Yes, Chris Cox is a good conservative, but like it or not, McCain was right. Cox was captain of the ship when the carrier ran aground.”

The SEC Comissioner is the Captain of a carrier?

Sorry, but replacing Cox with Cuomo...that’s where I get off the boat.

"This childish reflex provoked The Wall Street Journal to editorialize that "McCain untethered" -- disconnected from knowledge and principle -- had made a "false and deeply unfair" attack on Cox that was "unpresidential" and demonstrated that McCain "doesn't understand what's happening on Wall Street any better than Barack Obama does."

I've always had my reservations about George Will.

Nobody understands what's happening on Wall street, least of all the media, who keep pressuring the main players into "instant solutions." The ignorant leading the inept.

What is my favorite ever line about "economists"? You know, the ones who are supposed to understand this stuff?

"Ask a hundred economists a question, and they all will point in different directions..."

It's not a science, stupid!

Now would be a good time for a smart news channel to corral the one person I have not heard from (but wish I could): Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of The Black Swan: The impact of the Highly Improbable.

(Check out the definition of a "Black Swan")

George Will nails it! Yep, Old George (or, as I like to call him, "every Liberal's favorite conservative") is always at his best when he's attacking Republicans and/or conservatives. McCain's occasional outbursts sometimes fall on the just as well as the unjust, and if that's true in the case of Mr. Cox, he'll be far more likely to get an apology from McCain than "typical white people" are to get an apology from Hussein for suggesting that we're all racists. Nevertheless, as a FReeper lady pointed out the other day, sometimes it's refreshing to see McCain (or any Republican politician) get righteously indignant about some of the B.S. the Left is peddling these days.

Reading the article, it sounds like George may be leaning toward voting for Obama. That says it all to me.

George, isn't there a baseball game on that you can watch?

Will is a country club Republican who would rather sip wine with Obama--that seems to be how he decides who has the correct "temperament".

Up to the conclusion the article was pretty good. Timing was wrong, these are the kind of things you write about your candidate, and you seek changes in their behavior after the election.

Then comes the conclusion. What planet is George on? Is that what separates Obama from a good president for the USA? A little lack of experience which he can gain in office? Not the guranteed liberal judges he would appoint? Not the fact that he is all but an avowed socialist? Not the shenanigans we are likely to see form his yet not totally discovered litter of siblings? Not the guaranteed advancement of abortion rights, gay rights, political correctness, and affirmative action? Not the advancement of the greatest hoax in human history, Global Warming?

This level of ignorance borders on stupidity. So much so that I suspect it is not ignorance but rather the feeble atempt at a backstab from a traitor to the cause. Shame on you George!

no George Will swings and hits only air.

McCain is a first class nit wit. He is still for amnesty, he still is oblivious.

The base is NOT voting for mccain. The base is voting for the CONSERVATIVE VP pick.

McCain is a drag on the ticket.

In the real world at a major Fortune 500 company, Paulson and Cox would both be fired.

Either that or they’d both receive promotions and a chance to work in Uzbekistan... where they could explore new career opportunities and do less damage to the economy.

George Will is another in a long line of self-styled conservative Gods who look down their noses a la Charles Gibson at the Girl From the North Country. All these Beltway types i.e. David Brooks, Ben Stein, Charles Krauthammer, Will and most of the Bow Tie Geniuses at the American Spectator are driven to distraction by the notion that pretty can’t be smart or tough or strong or principled only “cute”. Sick of em’. Leave em in the dust.

I read anything written by someone on the Washington Compost with skepticism. I really hate when people post pro Obama articles here. There are enough on DU.
Obama lacks experience and even he said in 2004 that it wasn't a job where you should do on job training. He is a Marxist and anyone would be better for America.

Why don’t those who want a third party start years before the election instead of casting their vote for someone who may get 500 votes? I think both parties are broken at the moment and have no problem with a true conservative party I would like that, but I won’t throw away my vote I will use it to stop Obama is possible. To do otherwise is to cut off your nose to spite your face.

McCain's fact-free slander

He seems to reserve this for his Republican colleagues while embracing his "bipartisan" friends on the left.

Will nailed this one.
