The FBI searched the residence of the son of a Democratic state lawmaker in Tennessee over the weekend looking for evidence linking the young man to the hacking of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's personal e-mail account, two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press on Monday.
David Kernell, 20, has not returned repeated phone calls or e-mails from the AP since last week. His lawyer said Monday the family is going through a difficult period.

Poor baby, imagine the difficult period he put the Palin family through. I have no sympathy for this guy and he should be charged if they find the appropriate evidence. Then see how much more difficult it will be for the family.

I doubt if they’re going to get much. I am sure the kid was smart enough to run Tracks Eraser or some other sort of cleaning program on his PC.
They might find some other stuff that indicates he dislikes Palin, but that much is not a crime.
He knows he did it, they know he did it, hell he bragged that he did it, but the chain of evidence is going to be a bear in this case.

A message needs to be sent to the hackers who think this was just a game. The guilty need a very public trial and prison sentence. This is political terrorism and espionage. I can just imagine the media uproar if the same had happened to Hillary or Pelosi, let alone Obama or Biden.
