Ethics: If a prominent Republican neglected paying taxes, then insulted the disabled, his political career would be over instantly. Is a double standard saving House Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel?
Will the same happen to Rep. Rangel after being asked last Friday why Republican presidential nominee Sarah Palin's popularity frightens Democrats? "You got to be kind to the disabled," replied Rangel, a New York Democrat.
WCBS-TV reporter Marcia Kramer's voice registered astonishment as she followed with: "You got to be kind to the disabled?"
When Rangel answered "yes," Kramer pressed him: "She's disabled?"
Then Rangel stepped further into it: "There's no question about it politically. It's a nightmare to think that a person's foreign policy is based on their ability to look at Russia from where they live."
A local disabled activist was not amused, reminding the New York CBS affiliate that "a disabled president ran this country" Franklin Roosevelt. Rangel knew Alaska Gov. Palin had a disabled infant son, yet later in the day he issued a disingenuous statement contending that "disabled" wasn't the word he meant to use.

It’s clear they don’t expect class or dignity from the black population.
LITTLE PEOPLE PAY TAXES! (Leona Helmsly)

Yes there is a double standard for the Democrats........
