He’ll be a pain in the ass all right. To you. I swear the guy won’t break 75% ACU (that would be VERY generous). I get you he’ll be sub-60 most of the term. You guys will crucify McCain for an 80% rating but you’ll install this RINO-like democrap in there who will not only vote less conservative than Lindsey Graham - ok, I’ll appease you - on every single issue but “amnesty,” but he will hold down a chair that will vote for Harry Reid or whatever sucessor idiot is picked (think Schmuck Schumer) for AT LEAST six years, maybe more. And you know what? We will not win back the Senate this time but don’t come whining in 2010 or 2012 that we only made it to 49 seats.
C’mon, Norm. You didn’t see McCain f**k-up #2. Where do you think we’re gonna be at 49 seats in 2010 when he’s wiping his hands of party leadership duties ? We’ll be lucky to stay out of the mid THIRTIES at this rate. Hell, we’ll be lucky to dodge dropping below 40 this year. You know and I know Shamnesty Graham will win again. This is a protest vote to let him know we don’t approve of his crap. As another poster said, let’s hope McCain does something smart and appoints him to another position (like Ambassador to Tierra del Fuego) and Gov. Sanford can either appoint himself or Ambassador Wilkins to the seat.
If McCain has a very successful first half of a term we can easily be in a position for gains. You never know.
Besides we don’t need an RNC office inside the White House, the taxpayer’s house. It’s one precedent I wouldn’t mind setting. With tech the way it is we will manage fine without such an office.
Is it a protest vote or are you endorsing him?
I’m glad I don’t live in S Carolina right now — it would be a gut-wrenching decision for me how to vote on this one. I cannot stand Lindsay Grahmnesty. Anytime I see him on TV, I get the urge to slap him upside the head.
Besides you should vote for McCain. That way he can appoint Graham as say SecDef or something.
You’re going to like this: Attorney General Lindsey Graham. :)
Perhaps having the RNC be independent from a GOP White House is good. Bush appoints duds to be RNC Chairman. For example, Bush put Gov Gilmore as RNC in 2001. This was a dumb move. Gilmore was still Governor at the time. He spread himself too thin that he couldn’t do his job as Va Governor and RNC. In 2007, Bush put a freshman Senator, Martinez, as Co-RNC Chair. It is stupid to put a Freshman Senator as RNC Chair. I got the feeling that Bush wanted Yes Folks who wouldn’t challenge his authority. With our elected officials behaving badly (Delay, Ney, Stevens), the RNC needs to show some independence.
Bush should’ve appointed Michael Steele.
Is there a dime’s worth of difference between these 2 democrats?
There is no provision for a write-in vote on a South Carolina ballot. So, the only way to register a "protest vote" is to either vote for the challenger, or stay at home on election day.
Lindsay Graham has not represented his constituents. He has, in fact, told us to "shut up". Will another candidate, regardless of party affiliation appreciate the people's trust and their votes and actually represent the folks? I dunno.... but I DO know that what we have now is an arrogant little SOB that I swore would never, ever receive my support or my vote again!
I'm not in the habit of voting for Democrats. The last one I voted for in ANY election was Jimmah Carter (hey, I was eighteen at the time...cut me some slack!). I'm through with this "reward poor performance because it is the lesser of two evils" mentality, and if it were not for Palin in the ticket John McCain wouldn't be getting my vote either. (I'd stay home)
I wouldn’t vote Coneley. Some day he could be rat senator #51. And I hate his breed of dem, you can’t claim to be a conservative and support rat control, these types should not be rewarded with votes, not for a legislative seat.
And Lindsey LoGraham, while a complete tool and MORON (not to mention swishy) is not the hardcore leftist Weicker was. Weicker is one of the most liberal Republicans ever to serve in congress and swiftly abandoned the party after he lost, became Governor on his own ego-trip party ticketp/. http://www.voteview.com/Is_John_Kerry_A_Liberal.htm
It will be a loss for the country but gain for the Senate if McCain puts him in the cabinet. The SC GOP was foolish in coronating LoGraham for Thrumond’s seat.
If true, appalling. The Bush DOJ gets poor marks from me.
I will probably get skewered for this, but I’m voting Lindsey Graham. I’m not impressed with his opponent and I know Graham’s stance on the military.
Do you know this? Is your gaydar set at "fabulous"?
I've heard the innuendo on lib sites but thought that FReepers were a little above this BS.
If you haven’t heard that allegation on FR, you haven’t been paying attention. I’ve also worked with him in the remote past. If he’s straight, he certainly didn’t present that attitude in person.
If the nose is rotten, you're better off without it.
Graham IS a republican. The correct question is, do we have any conservatives over here in SC?
The answer is yes.
In case you haven't noticed, FR has a homosexual agenda forum and it's not for advocacy...............
