Speaking to an Irish-American audience this morning, John McCain used his strongest language of the general election campaign to grab again the mantle of comprehensive immigration reform.
In Scranton, Pa., he vowed to push through a plan that offers a path to citizenship to illegal immigrants who pay fines and fulfill other requirements. "This nation is stronger for the infusion of fresh blood and vitality," McCain said.

And which Branch of Government over the last week had Nationalized a Major Corporation, spent a Trillion Dollars to Bail out banks and Wall Street and is now pushing a bill that would give Dictatorial Powers to the Secretary of the Treasury?
Sounds to me like we already have an Executive Branch that has embraced Socialism.

Amen!
“Country First” is more than a slogan.

My agenda is to secure American sovereignty and our homeland.
Without it, you have no Constitution, or home land.
Without a sovereign country, you have nothing left to protect.
We had a great one runnung in the person of Duncan Hunter, but too bad that beyond Ann Coulter and some folks on Free Republic, few got the news.
You actually believe that a Vice President would cast a tie breaking vote in the Senate that is contrary to the directive given to him or her by the President?
LOL!
While I might have preferred to see the GOP try the nuclear option to stop the democrat obstruction of all of W's appointees, what makes any of us believe that the RINO's in the senate would have gone along with it? I can think of several (Chafee, Snowe, etc.) who would probably have voted with the dems against forcing the rule change, and the nuclear option would have failed leaving the judges that were confirmed after the Gang of 14 compromise languishing until the end of W's 2nd term. In fact, we might have even seen Alito and Roberts blocked by the dems and face the prospect of a SCOTUS with only 7 justices until after January 2009. Thus, how can you say that McCain's participation in the Gang of 14 prevented conservative judges from getting on, or advancing on the federal bench. It may very well be that he enabled some of W's appointees to be confirmed who otherwise would have never been seated at all.
It makes one think of all the fresh blood and potential vitality in the person of new legal American citizens that has been shed through the crime of legalized abortion.
Why does McCain do this? I had made a decision to vote for the McCain ticket ONLY because of Palin. I thought myself able to hold my nose and vote for the possibility of getting Palin in office.
And now Juan brings up one of the issues I most dislike and distrust him on... Amnesty. If he choses to push this crap again, he will torpedo his own campaign. The American people have spoken loudly the last time this came up - we DO NOT want ANY form of AMNESTY (by any other name...).
But I guess McLame has decided that the bounce from Palin is worth throwing in the trash for his pet project - the ultimate throw-away of the rule of law.
Why, why, why????????!!!!!!!!!

Do you know the difference in tactics used by most liberals when arguing, and those that you use?

I never understood why everyone was so excited about Palin, enough to vote for McCain. McCain will always be McCain and a VP is the equivalent of a trophy wife.
Every time I start feeling a bit better about voting for McNut, he says something mind boggling like this.
I swear, this fool is trying to throw this election.
Can't Steve Schmidt lock him in an attic someplace until this election is over?
Please provide one example in modern times when a Vice President cast a tie breaking vote in the Senate that was against the wishes of the sitting President?
And V.P. Palin when casting votes in the Senate will ALWAYS vote the way President McCain directs her to vote.
Here's a real good look at what amnesty will do to the election map. When all those happy new democrats start to vote, how will Republicans ever recover? WHY would REPUBICANS be pushing so hard for what will be their own doom?
Okay, I'll bite.
Of the two Presidential candidates we have....who's the Socialist?
Please point to where any VP candidate before Palin, has ever been given autonomy in an open and public way. Palin is different and you cannot get your mind around that truth. Maybe you don’t get her... for if you did... you would know.

Truth be told...Barr's whole campaign is helping Obama.
We would certainly get Amnesty with Obama or Hillary, so you might as well vote McCain for the other issues.
McCain isn’t the one that opened the border or failed to enforce immigration laws. McCain is inheriting a problem where Mexicans have lived here in some cases well over a decade.
Now he could uproot them and send them across the border. And part of me would like to see that. At this point, it’s going to tear apart communities, and in some cases families. It won’t bring back the businesses that have been run out of business because they refused to go illegal in the first place.
I don’t know how to apply the command God gave Israel “Don’t oppress the alien among you.” to this case. But I’m aware of it.
I think maybe the nation has enough to deal with without starting a civil war with 12 million illegals. Perhaps McCain is right. Close the border, find a compromise for those already here and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
