Berkeley? Street rabble? No. Homeowners who opposed a HUD proposal of housing for the poor smack-dab in the middle of their neighborhood.
She threatened to fine the protesters $50,000 but relented citing their First Amendment right to free speech.

If memory serves a federal judge did -- and the judge cleared the way for Ms Achtenberg herself, personally, to be held accountable and open to legal action. Again if memory serves Ms Achtenberg hightailed it back to San Francisco leaving her "brilliant" federal career behind.

I am sure of my memory that the federal judge ruled that a bureaucrat could be held personally responsible -- I'm surprised that more people don't seize the opportunity to redress actual grievances by going after the bureaucrat.
I’m telling you this would be quite funny if Rush used a sound track borrowed from the daytime spanish soaps and added some drama to the voice over. The spanish soaps crack me up. I have no idea what is going on but they do these crazy closeups of has been 50++ year old woman and men with toupees and pancake makeup trying to make them look sexy going into completely fake crying or anger or some emotion with clownish musica ramping up. Then they cut to a commercial with some dude yelling in a spanish ron-radio voice pitching used cars. Too funny.
