Ban says he's tired of U.N. bashing
Washington Times ^ | September 22, 2008 | Betsy Pisik and Barbara Slavin

On the eve of the annual meeting here of world leaders, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon complained that he is perceived as "invisible" and that neither he nor his organization gets enough credit for efforts to reform and to alleviate global ills.

The United Nations is "underappreciated" by governments and often the press, Mr. Ban said, in part because the world body doesn't trumpet its successes. Member states, he added, are often the root causes of the organization's all-too-frequent deadlocks.

"There is unfair criticism," Mr. Ban told The Washington Times in an interview. "We are dependent on the resources given by member states. There is a huge lack of political will to support the United Nations. It's easy to criticize."

We can only wish that commie organization would go away.

Unfair criticism?

Quit and go work a real job. The UN takes handouts coerced from hard-working citizens, and in return it spends its time legitimizing dictators, putting thug murderers in charge of “human rights”, funding genocidal tyrants, and spewing anti-Semitic garbage.

I’d say it’s deserved.

UN is useless. They do nothing for the world but want to take credit for all the good US does for the world

Poor guy. Finally realizes the organization is getting what it deserves.
Why don’t we send more of our hard earned money to be wasted and used against us. Jeez !

The UN is the most capitalist enterprize on earth. Every scumbag in it is their to grow their bank accounts.

Can you really say you don't "trumpet successes" when you actually have none...? I guess he's right, technically.

Amen. The UN is a global mechanism for corrupt politicians to escape the disasters they create at home while discussing it over a steak at Morton's

Every Secretary General has been a success; they left much richer than they were when they started.

Guarantee he’s an Arugula O’Teleprompter (D-Rezko) fan.

And you don’t get much more “Chicago” than that.

What’s not to criticize?

Founded by Algar Hiss, a Stalinist spy.

Previously led by Eric Waldheim, a Nazi war criminal

Later led by Kofi Annon [Food for Oil Scandal]

Accusing the US of war crimes, crimes against nature,, crimes against humanity, and not paying them enough.

Denounced Mother’s Day.

Trying to make spanking illegal.

Placing wicked nations in charge of ethics.

Seeking to hamstring industrial countries with the global warming myth.

Seeking to regulate the farts of cattle.

Gee, we should lighten up on these kooky tyrant wannabes?
