I am an Orthopedist gold mine. Heat makes you feel good for a few minutes but increases the inflammation. Ice is a miracle. It stings at first but makes things better once you get past the stinging. I keep about dozen ice packs (the cloth covered ones) in the freezer.
You are welcome. I suffer myself, as do my patients and roughly 40 percent of the population on any given day. Today back pain is epidemic for too many reasons to list here.
Don’t forget, get the area good and numb — that’s how you know your getting to the involved tissue.
The other way to really knock down back pain is to loose weight. I have a clear threshold one pound over 193 I am in pain. 192 I’m OK. use a bathroom scale and see if you can find a break point.
