CBS 2 HD Has Learned Democrats Threatened To Attack Jewish Groups' Tax Exempt Status Over VP Nominee Invite
Hillary Clinton won't be speaking at Monday's anti-Iran rally at the United Nations -- and neither will Republican Sarah Palin or any other politicians for that matter.
The reason? A heated behind the scenes tug-of-war.
Sources tell CBS 2 HD that a decision to disinvite Palin from the high profile rally after Clinton pulled out in a huff came as the result of intense pressure from Democrats.
"This is insulting. This is embarrassing, especially to Gov. Palin, to me and I think it should be to every single New Yorker," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, told CBS 2 HD.
Sources say the axes were out for Palin as soon as Sen. Clinton pulled out because she did not want to attend the same event as the Republican vice presidential candidate.
"I have never seen such raw emotion -- on both sides," said someone close to the situation.

WOW. This needs to be spread far and wide.
It would be great if the media would finally start admitting the unprecedented attacks that are being made on Sarah Palin, but I know I’m dreaming.
This can’t be from THE CBS.
Palin is driving them nuts! I have never seen feminists so crazy!
I am shocked! Not shocked by the content, mind you, just that this story was reported at all. Interesting.
PING
this is local NYC CBS
UJA (http://www.ujafedny.org/ associated with the Conferences http://www.conferenceofpresidents.org/) has been bombarded from angry calls and emails about this fiasco. I know this because I know people who work there and see the panic in the Donor Center
It’s really too bad the DemocRATS had to drag election politics into this. I for one would have liked to have seen both Hillary AND Sarah there to at least show some American unity on this subject. Unfortunately, the boys at Camp Obama didn’t see it that way. A great start for “The Great Unifier.”
election politics is one thing. Trying to shut jewish orgs down is scary
This is just indicative of what is in store, even with a McCain/Palin victory. Our country is polarizied beyond what would be considered normal politics. The left has made it so. Of that, there can be no argument. This vitriol against Sara Palin, for no other reason than she’s conservative, only highlights the point. What we’re coming to is full-scale war between the ideologies of democracy/capitalism/freedom and liberal/progressive/fascism with attendant governmental control of every facet of life. Make no mistake, this is war.
I think we’re going to have to get used to it. There is going to be a lot of things shut down in this country once the Obamagruppenfuhrers take over.
If Obama’s campaign forced these organizations into a corner with this kind of intimidation about losing tax exempt status etc. its dynamite.
It should leave no doubt to the discerning Jewish and Gentile voter alike how dangerous Obama would be as president.
A Hugo Chavez in waiting.
I'm ahead of the curve. I've applied to be Blockleiter of my neighborhood in Whitelandia.
Hikind is a NY democrat councilman so he must know what’s really going on.
Bubba's administration was proficient at using the IRS and FBI files to intimidate.
Too late! I already applied for it. Just don't tell anyone I'm only half-white.
Unlike Obama who is only half-black
When the Hillary pulled out because she couldn't have a "Democratic"-only presence, which makes it "apolitical"(!), after the sizzling in my brain stopped, I realized what the actual problem was:
The co-President still has delusions of importance, to the point of irrationality.
They own the bureaucracy that runs the IRS.
