Yup. King Henry Paulson. Don’t forget all the other bailouts already in all of this. I would say that we are approaching 2 trillion in the end. I find this interesting:

Sec. 8. Review.

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

Maybe King is not the right word. Dictator Paulson might be a better way to say it.

No judicial review or agency rule review of any actions the government takes to fix the economy. I don't know if that grant of regulatory authority to the Secretary Of The Treasury on the scale contemplated is wise. To whom is he accountable?

This whole rollercoaster ride is terrifying, and I wish I could find the exit door. But, as you observed, this Section 8 is the one that made my heart stop.
