Sneed hears the health of U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, whose bravura in the face of a cancerous brain tumor resulted in a surprise appearance and speech at the Democratic National Convention, is sadly going downhill.
Backshot: "He gave every ounce of courage to attend that convention, where an attack of kidney stones caused him to be delivered by ambulance," said a source.
Update: "And although he still goes sailing every day at 2 p.m., he is getting weaker and weaker. He's a very ill man. It's been said he could have three weeks, three months or three years . . . but I wouldn't bet three years."

Kennedy will soon have to answer to the ultimate judge and no amount of political influence, powerful friends or a supportive media will help him then.
I think Ted’s wife is the likely replacement, but Caroline does own property in MA. She inherited Jackie’s house on Martha’s Vineyard, so claiming residency would not be a problem.
We all deserve it, kid.
I always thought it was the people of Massachusetts's seat... but I'm from Texas, what the heck do I know. the people in his state are represented by him and that should tell everybody a couple of things about people that would elect him over and over...
I didn't know that we had hereditary seats in the senate and house of representatives.
I agree.
Would hate to see us mentioned on BOR with comments showing how crass and unclassy we are.
It is always better to take the high road. Why demean ourselves just to inject a statement on a sick and dying man?
For me, I like visiting a site where there are intelligent, thinking people with interesting views. Trash language, hateful rhetoric demeans all of us and tears down the respect for the site.
I want FR cited as one of the best sites around, a place we can be proud to spend hours of our time. A lot of work goes into this site and people will not give credibility to a site when it is filled with bad language, hateful cheap shots and general gutter utterings.
Words tell a lot about who we are and what we stand for.
