Mike Reagan declared the runaway government bailout of Wall Street at taxpayers expense a "ROBBERY!"
Los Angeles, Ca. - On his nationally syndicated radio show Reagan declared that the "Democrats Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, Jamie Gorelick, Penny Pritzker, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, are robbing the American taxpayer, and Republicans in the House and Senate had been tapped to drive the getaway car. In a political system where well paid Democrat operatives can enrich themselves at the expense of the American people with zero downside, there is no incentive to behave properly, when the taxpayer will bail you out. Enough is enough, bad decisions have consequences and those consequences ought to include indictments and jail time for those who cashed in."

What incentive to these corporations have in being responsible and not driving the company in the ground while many in the company reap humongous salaries? There needs to be consequences by those who ran the company into the ground. As a tax payer I have NOTHING to do with their poor decision and don't want the bill for it.

And how many years was the republicans in charge of both houses, how many investigations of this activity did they start. The republicans are just as much as fault as the democrats and they know it. That’s why they are running around behind closed doors and saying we got to stick together.

That is how it appears to me. Institute a little socialism via some wink and nod corruption with a dose of PC social engineering. Stir and let ferment until rot sets in. Then apply a larger dose of socialism and call it a cure.
It isn't socialism. The only thing that is being nationalized is the toxic debt. The valuable assets will continue to be held by those who misappropriated the loot.
This stuff has been around long before the Communist Manifesto. These guys aren't Marxists.

If the debt is nationalized and the taxpayers become the unwilling bearers of the debt by government decree how is that not socialism? Are you just saying it is closer to being communism?
Socialism is when the government builds houses for everyone, pretty much the same all the way around and makes everyone live in them. I know this is hard for folks to accept. Under genuine socialism, as practiced in Northern Europe, life isn't terrible, the guys at the top aren't especially self-serving crooks. The problem is instead that it is just sort of depressing, providing a drab sameness everywhere and excellence is hard to achieve. It is the problem of central planning when everything everywhere is different enough that it doesn't work.
It would be socialism when the government tries to stimulate the economy by giving everyone $10,000 free credit. When crooks get the government to preserve their individual wealth by buying out their bad loans, that is not socialism. That is crony capitalism.
This is not just a quibble. The bible doesn't condemn socialism. In fact, Christian charity is sort of a form of socialism. Thou shalt not steal, on the other hand, is Mosaic law.
You can argue that one with some Christians if you want to. It isn't American. As for the crony capitalism I guess I was right when I suggested piracy as the best description.
What is going on isn’t socialism. Its theft. There is a them, with real live names, that is thieving and an us that is being thieved from. There are identifiable folks making lots and lots of money, which the rest of us are going to finance through taxes, inflation and impoverishment.
