“I promptly changed the password to popcorn and took a cold shower.”

So many jokes...so little time.

I think the father was behind the whole thing. What 20-year-old kid is so loyal to his parents’ political party that he’d try a stunt like this?

My guess is that the parents put him up to it, or encouraged him to take the blame for it, because they knew that the punishment would be much less severe and would be relegated to the pranks of a young computer hacker rather than the malicious dirty work of a career politician.

"All I want to know is whether or not the little bastard has been arrested ... if not, why not?"

Perhaps because the only place it's been reported is Drudge, FR and Newsmax.

Kinda like the only place reporting Obama's gaffe on McCain not using email with his crippled fingers was Drudge, FR and Newsmax.

And the only reporting on the Franklin Raines involvement in the housing meltdown and his current connection to Obama is Drudge, Newsmax and FR.

And, of course, the only place reporting on that loving terrorist couple from the '70's and their relationship with Obama is...well, you get my drift, and I could go on and on.

In other words, don't get your hopes up.

This kid will be prosecuted and if found guilty will do federal time.

This is not just some BS libtard hack job, he hacked the email account of a candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States. Once the Secret Service got involved this little twerp’s chances of getting a slap on the wrist went to zero. The feds will throw the book at him.

The most this idjit can now hope for is a presidential pardon.

Some day, your untmost strugle may involve depression.

His untmost strugle would involve a spelling bee.

My whole family is/was prison guards.

Unlike the melodramatic silliness seen on TV, I know from first hand accounts what -real- jail is like.

That -will- happen to him, regardless of what anyone wills or no.

Welcome to reality.

If you can’t do the time...etc etc etc.

Actions have consequences.

Even the stupidest person on earth has some inkling of what happens to “new meat” in prison.

*If* he’s lucky, he’ll be put in protective custody...but the odds of that are pretty slim unless his dad is able to pull some judicial strings.

we all know from media reports that this a “criminal” matter-but can the Palins take this little sh*t to court in a civil action?

Internet hacking has been glamorized by television.

This guy is a little jerk, dumb in ways that count, but clever in others. Maybe mentally unstable, but I wouldn’t send him to prison. Not sure what a proper punishment would be ... maybe a couple of years in jail.

What I would really like is for this to be tied to the Obama campaign and cost it a few votes.

He’s committed multiple felonies.

Frankly, I’ll be surprised if he even gets highway trash detail or community service.

His daddy’s “important”, ya know.

Now if *you* had done this...or downloaded some illegal MP3s, we’d all have to send you cigarettes in jail just to keep you safe.

Shouldn’t you be back on the “smashed puppy head” thread defending the smasher’s “rights”?

I’m still waiting to hear the results of the charges against the Code Pink skanks who rushed the stage [attempted assault?] at Palin’s and McCain’s nomination speeches.

Oh, wait...that’s right...there aren’t any.

Back in the Clinton days, a young man I know well who is now working in the financial relm, degreed etc etc, made an elaborate threat against President Clinton. He set up a new account on a friends computer.

The secret service came to investigate and scared him to death and interrupted his parents 25th anniversary trip to the Bahamas.

Nothing happened. He was punished severely at several levels but there was no proceeding by the government.

The secret service told his dad who hurried home ASAP that they investigate 40 or 50 such events every week.

Poor kid has some issues. Maybe using this Palin hacking thing as a way for attention from his daddy? Guess the institutions did not help......

"Skirts, Not Pantsuits, a pro-Palin blog, asserts that this blog is linked to rubicon10@yahoo.com. I’m not sure how they established that. Indeed the entire site could be a prank. However, it does include this information, the dates line up and the depression wouldn’t be unheard of:"

"My name is David KernellI am 15 a white cacasian male i live in memphis, TN. My favorite and only hobby is chess, more like an obsession. I am not afraid to say that i have acute depression and have been institutionalized twice, one at th age of 9 in Texas and one this past year. I have been strugleing with this for my entire life and have finally come to the conclusion that being stoic in most of life’s issues is of the untmost importance."

Yeah, way back in the day I had a roomate who was all involved with radicalism, and he made some public statements when Reagan was coming to town (Austin), and I came home from work one day and he was sitting there white as a sheet, and I said what happened, and he said “the Secret Service was just h-h-here.”

OTOH, I had a next door neighbor during Clinton who had a son who was SS. Nicest people you could want to meet. Re Clinton, he said we didn’t elect him, we just protect him.

Everybody, everywhere has “issues”.

99% of them don’t commit federal crimes to “resolve” them.

I’m wondering if another poster doesn’t have the real score....that daddy is the “master mind”.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see...if *anything* ever comes of it, that is.
