I got diverted to "Customs" on my return to the U.S. this evening (random selection, so far as I can tell). While a couple of officials searched my baggage, the younger one asked how long I'd been married. "Almost 30 years" was to him an amazing answer. I wonder: What part of "Until death do us part" do they not understand?

LOL! Overall, it’s not bad. Get in the rural areas and it’s nice - and conservative. It’s just tends to lean to the left overall.

Yes, it's morning. Here at least. My body is trying to remind me that it's mid-afternoon in Vienna.

The sionnsareens are having difficulty getting home. Two planes in a row had mechanical failures so almost 4 hours after planned departure they're still at the airport. But they're now booked on a different airline, getting home this evening.

(I went through something of the same yesterday -- my flight to Amsterdam was delayed so late I couldn't make the connection home. So KLM booked me onto BA with connection in Heathrow Terminal 5. Plane was late, so I arrived with only 20 minutes to make my connection, which included a trip through security. Made it, but with only a minute to spare.)
