Indeed, pro-lifers should insist that these candidates support pro-life parental-involvement laws. Such laws enjoy broad support and unlike other laws limiting abortion, they can be easily justified as a parental-rights issue. Furthermore, my recent study for the Family Research Council provides evidence that well designed parental-involvement laws have been surprisingly effective at reducing abortion rates among minors.

Interesting article, and the conclusion that parental involvement laws help to reduce the abortion rate is not surprising.
However, the article only addresses abortion. I would suspect that such laws also have an effect on whether teens decide to get pregnant in the first place, thereby reducing the overall teen pregnancy rate. (Yes, if they are engaging in risky sex because they know they can “have everything taken care of,” they ARE deciding to get pregnant.) I’d like to see the results of such a study.
The older generation has the wisdom to place more value on life, and the resources to help their daughters through a crisis. That’s just one more reason why the Lord place the young in families with more experienced parents- something the abortion mills loathe.
