Violent crimes surge after illegals invade Texas
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | September 17, 2008 | Chelsea Schilling

While illegal aliens flee strict immigration enforcement policies in several states and settle in Texas, the state's budget is suffering and violent crime, soaring.

News reports indicate a flood of illegal aliens is coming from states such as Arizona and Oklahoma – where immigration crackdowns have made life more difficult for them. In the meantime, Texas' violent crime rates have taken a turn for the worse.

WND researched FBI crime statistics from years 2006 to 2007 for 29 of Texas' largest cities with populations of more than 100,000. The Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report reveals two of the state's well-known sanctuary cities with "don't-ask-don't-tell" policies, Houston and Austin, have surging violent crime rates. Houston experienced an additional 314 violent crimes in 2007 compared with 2006 figures. Austin had 213 more violent crimes reported to law enforcement than the previous year.

According to the stats, overall, the 29 most populous Texas cities had 1,083 more violent crimes committed in 2007 than in 2006. While arrest records usually do not indicate suspect citizenship status, the crime trend matches a migration wave of illegal aliens coming from locations such as Arizona and Oklahoma – states with strict immigration enforcement policies and declining violent crime rates.

Semantic fencing.

Rebate or ‘prebate’ is the term that is assigned to that portion of the FairTax plan to make the program palatable to liberals and therefore passable.

This is one area that I am not entirely pleased with, but it is a small trade off compared to the horrid system that we currently have.

Do you prefer the current system? If so, is it because you benefit from the Income Tax or do you just like the idea of turning your financial info over to the government?

In addition, the increase in the crime rate in Houston for example was .5% per 100,000 people, which is statistically insignificant and the increase in Austin per 100,000 people is even lower.

How dare you ruin peoples' kneejerking with facts?

I'm sure those 9,768 additional crime victims will be relieved to hear this.

False and ridiculous. Liberal love entitlements. "Prebate" is the dishonest label is used by the NRST spammers to hide the nature of their huge new entitlement program from conservatives.

BTW, which of them is now trying to use a false "rebate" label as well?

It may be insignificant to someone in New York, however Texans kinda tend to be irritated.

You are repeating yourself and ignoring the point. This FT plan is better than the current system (if you can call it a system). It is not perfect and no one claims that it is.

Is your only problem with the FT the rebate or do you have other objections?

Do you have any objections to the massive entitlements built into and paid for by the current system?

What do you think would be better than the FIT and the FT?

You can fence or you can carry on a discussion. I’ve done my part and now it’s up to you.

The latest FBI crime stats indicate that New York has the fourth lowest crime rate of any state in the country and the lowest crime rate by far of any of the big states.

You post a falsehood, I corrected you.

You posted the falsehood again, I corrected you again.

I've been thinking a lot about where I want to go when I finally have enough money to get the heck out of Kalifornia.

I've heard a lot of good things about Texas... however, this wasn't one of them.

The combination of heat and humidity was another negative.

So... I'm probably moving elsewhere. Sorry, Texas.

Since you are not interested in a discussion — or even suggesting that I may have been mistaken and not spreading falsehoods — No, I don’t want to ‘go for three’. I doubt that you are even capable of a rational and polite discussion.

I don’t see the Fair Tax mentioned in the article. Let’s get the thread back on the original topic, eh? We have enough Fair Tax flame-a-thons as it is without hijacking an unrelated thread to create another one.

“...I do have to wonder if Houston has seen an increase from Katrina “refugee’s” who decided to stay...”

I have a niece there. The crime rate spited after the Katrina ‘refugees’ from NOLA settled in Houston. There are several ‘no go’ zones.
